Adoption of Voice Assistants (VA) has been a hot topic of research currently. However, the existing studies are based on traditional models like the Technology Acceptance Model that is less suitable for investigating adoption of AI-based technologies like VAs. This is because the conventional models do not consider the anthropomorphic nature of AI-based technologies that has the potential to form emotional bonds between man and machines. Therefore, in this work we propose artificial autonomy as an intelligent AIbased attribute founded on three task primitives of sensing, thinking, and action autonomy. Further, we use the concept of interpersonal love and apply it in the context of human-AI relationship based on Sternberg's Triangular Theory of love. Data is collected from 607 participants across two Asian countries. Partial Least Squares (PLS) based Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) has been used for the purpose of model building and testing. The results highlight the importance of artificial autonomy on all the three aspects of love, indicating the presence of consummate love. ''Love for AI'' is different from ''brand love'' since in the later case some of the love aspects of passion, intimacy, and commitment are missing. Theoretically, this study improves our understanding of artificial autonomy as an intelligent AI-attribute and the perceptions of love in Information Systems research. The findings can help technology companies develop novel strategies for improving the human-likeliness of these VAs.
Technology adoption is accepting, integrating, and using the latest innovative technologies in society. Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics are changing the face of the industrial and service sectors. There is a need to change the traditional way of teaching by introducing the latest innovative methods. This study aims to measure the intention of adopting AI-based robots in the educational system of Indian universities. This study uses three theories technology acceptance model, the theory of planned behaviour, and the technology readiness index. Thirteen hypotheses are proposed for this study. The teachers and students survey Indian universities. This study also measures the users' attitudes and the impact on their intention. Nine hypotheses got accepted, and four hypotheses got rejected. This study will benefit the university administration as they will understand the importance of AI-based robots and their applications. These will also be helpful in a way that the students and teachers both are in favours of the adoption process.
In the present period of computerized handling, high level of online information is looked with digital threats. There are unlimited dangers and difficulties to information existence online. Cyber-attacks which are considered the emerging and serious threats that are going on each second and investigation of those dangers and threats are exceptionally hard to confine and vanquish them. Cybercrimes have a terrible effect on governmental and non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, financial banks and economic infrastructures. Numerous worldwide societies, policy makers and intelligent agencies are trying to react and control cybercrimes. One of the most serious issue in the online processing is that how to secure and deal with our day by day information against digital misrepresentation and cybercrimes. To comprehend cybercrime and save our digital assets, this paper will analyze about various cybercrimes and addresses the effective prevention and detection ways and methods used for the avoidance, controlling, detection and combatting of those crimes.
Voice Activated Personal Assistants (VAPA) are unique and different from other Information Systems (IS) due to their personalized, intelligent, and human-like behavior. Given the unique characteristics of these VAPA's, current technology adoption models are not comprehensive enough for explaining the usage of these systems. While trust and privacy have been identified as relevant issues affecting adoption of VAPA's, both these have been treated in a simplistic fashion that is not effective keeping in mind the complex nature of these factors. Moreover, being "always on", VAPA's are intrusive by nature: another aspect that current research has overlooked. Drawing on current findings in IS and artificial intelligence, we propose two different types of trust (cognitive and emotional) together with their antecedents (anthropomorphism, intelligence, VAPA privacy concern, household privacy concern, vendor & third-party privacy concern, and government privacy concern). The moderation effect of perceived intrusiveness on usage behavior is also examined. The proposed research model is empirically validated with data obtained from 466 VAPA users in India using a Structure Equation Modelling approach. We observe that perceived anthropomorphism does not affect emotional trust, whereas the effect of perceived intelligence on cognitive trust is significant. Social privacy concerns like VAPA and household privacy affect both forms of trust, whereas the effect of institutional privacy category is weak with only vendor & third-party privacy concern affecting emotional trust. Additionally, the findings establish the moderating role of perceived intrusiveness in dampening and negatively influencing the usage of VAPA's, with a stronger effect for large households.
