Refractive indices () and densities (r) of water (W) + n-butylamine (NBA), + sec-butylamine (SBA) and + tert-butylamine (TBA) systems had been measured in the whole range of composition at 303.15 K, from which deviation in refractive index (DnD ) molar refraction (Rm) and excess molar refraction () had been evaluated. All of the derived properties were fitted to appropriate polynomials. DnD were fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. Values of DnD were all positive and were all negative which were attributed to cross hydrogen bonding, specific interactions as well as interstitial accommodation effect. A comparative study of Lorentz-Lorenz (L-L), Weiner (W), Heller (H), Gladstone-Dale (G-D), Arago-Biot (A-B), Eykman (Eyk), Newton (Nw), Eyring-John (E-J) and Oster (Os) relations for determining the refractive index of a liquid had been carried out to test their validity for the three binaries over the entire mole fraction range of butylamines at 303.15 K.
Energy demand is increasing day by day and to overcome these challenges we are depending more on nonrenewable energy sources. The non-renewable energy sources such as thermal power plant, nuclear power plant, diesel power plant, etc., release more carbon dioxide and other harmful gasses into the environment. This causes raise in temperature, water getting polluted, etc. To overcome global climate change challenges (temperature raising, water pollution, air pollution, etc.), an affiliated institution in the south of India implements utilizing the renewable energy sources -- wind mill, solar energy & other sources- rainwater harvesting, water recycling, etc. on the campus. This paper describes the details of the implementation of these different projects. The implication of this work is to create awareness of an impactful initiative for other institutions to follow. Iron chrome oxide (FeCr 2O4), is a commercially viable and major ingredient of stainless steel. The Odisha state in India possesses 98% of the pre-Cambrian India’s Chromite ore deposits in Sukinda valley, Jajpur District. To meet the present escalating demand for chromium in steel industries, it is urged to extract more chrome ore to satiate domestic needs. The depletion of chrome deposits, rise in demand, fewer chrome mines, and less conversion from tailings increase of more toxic hexavalent chrome ion level in the geo-bio hydrosphere, shall aggravate health concerns for the people, fauna, and flora in Sukinda Ultramafic Complex (SUC). The present quest is a collection of chromite ores and tailings. A chemical study is done by using the X-ray fluorescent spectrometer. An insitu/GIS study of the Sukinda ultramafic complex by using Arc-GIS, and ERADAS software has been done to originate hydrology, aspect, and hill-shade map of the valley. The literature, and as an inhabitant of the area helped in preparing the strategic plan through Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan. CR (III) is a dietary requirement. The anthropogenic activities and atmospheric exposure have converted Cr (III) to Cr (VI) in SUC and have surpassed the recommended values. The noxious Cr (VI) in the geo-bio-hydrosphere shall invite health and environmental concerns in the future. The aboriginals of SUC are economically burdened with food insecurity, poor livelihood, health, and of formal societal values. The Sukinda Valley ore samples contain 50% chromite ore is economic. But the >7% of CR (III) ore in the tailings and overburden shall warrant the future expected exorbitant Cr (VI) in the geo-bio-hydro environment of Sukinda valley.
Density (ρ) and sound velocity (u) have been measured for aqueous solutions of n-butylamine ( W + NBA) in the whole range of composition at an interval of 5 K. Deviation in Sound Velocity (∆u), Isentropic Compressibility (Ks), Excess Isentropic Compressibility (KsE), Specific Acoustic Impedance (Z), Rao's Constant (R) and Wada's Constant (W) have been calculated from measured u and ρ. ∆u versus x2 curve is negative and with the increment of temperature, ∆u decreases; Ks values of W + NBA are all positive whereas KsE values are all negative. All the above outcomes are interpreted in terms of molecular interaction especially hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic hydration between water and n-butylamine. Moreover, experimental data for u correlated with some theoretical equations. The relations are Nomoto’s Relation (uN), Impedance Relation (uIR), the Rao’s specific velocity method relation (uR), Van Deel’s ideal mixing relation (uIMR) and theoretical sound velocity according to Free Length Theory (uFLT). The validity of these relations with experimental values has been tested by measuring standard percentage deviation () and average percentage error (APE).
