Covid-19 pandemic has become one of the reasons for online education became an important area to explore worldwide nowadays. Google Classroom has popularly chosen by online educators to empower the teaching and learning process. However, limited research discussed the student’s acceptance and students' use behaviour using Google Classroom among Community College students in Malaysia. Since the worldwide have been affected by pandemic covid-19, the educators need to run the classes online, including subjects that related to the technical and vocational. Thus, this study adapted the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model to understand the relationship between the five predictors in the framework in creating the student behaviour to use Google Classroom application in the learning process. Data were derived from an online survey involving 293 students from seven Malaysian Community colleges and been analysed using Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) version 26.0. Findings from this study indicate that effort expectancy is the most significant dimension that influences behaviour intention, followed by social expectancy and performance expectancy. In addition, student’s use behaviour has been significantly influenced by the behaviour intention and facilitating conditions support by the college lecturers. Although there is a moderating effect shown in the relationships between performance expectancy and effort expectancy, yet it not supported in the link of social influence with behaviour intention and facilitating conditions with students' user behaviour. The results provide useful insight on the acceptance and use of Google Classroom among Malaysian Community College students. It is hoped that results from this study can be used as a guideline for educators to focus on and strategize their teaching methods and adapt to a new norm teaching environment.
Since 2010, Malaysia has been among the first choice for travel destination in the global Muslim travel market. To better serve the market, in 2013 Islamic Quality Standard for hotels (IQS) was introduced in Malaysia. However, many are skeptical about its feasibility. It is not clear whether hotels in Malaysia are keen to adopt this standard. Despite the ambiguity, a quantitative study to ascertain the intention to adopt IQS remains scarce. The purpose of this study is to investigate hotel manager's intention to adopt IQS. A total of 355 questionnaires were distributed to hotel managers throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Based on 72 usable returned questionnaires, it was found that most of the hotel managers were undecided on whether to adopt IQS or not. The percentage of those who were positive about the intention to adopt IQS was only slightly higher than those who were negative about it. Comparison between Muslim and non-Muslim intention in adoption shows a small but significant difference between the two groups. This paper contributes to the literature on Shariah-compliant, and it is relevant to civilization as it provides knowledge that may enhance understanding and cooperation among the stakeholders which is crucial for social harmony.
People with disabilities (PWD) empowerment has become a topic of international discussion. Individuals from this population are more likely to be in low-paying jobs and have the lowest prospects for promotion of any group across most industries. It is important to train PWD students to be more confident and to become semi-skilled workers before they enter the workforce. In 2020, there is no course conducted at Selayang Community College (KKSY) for the PWDs in the Food and Beverage (F&B) industry training because of the pandemic covid-19. This study, therefore, aimed to examine the relationships between the three independent variables (attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control) and the dependent variable (PWD students’ revisit intention to attend pastry courses), using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) with gender as the moderating variable. The quantitative method was employed to investigate the relationships between the three independent variables in TPB and PWD’s revisit intention. Questionnaires were used to obtain data from 146 PWD students in the Klang Valley area. This study found that all three independent variables significantly influenced PWD students' intention to attend pastry courses at KKSY. Perceived Behavioural Control or Individual belief and control is important to PWD students and also helps teachers to predict what types of short course they most likely will attend to expand their skill acquisition. This study contributes to the body of knowledge regarding the PWD students’ attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control to the area of hospitality education research, Furthermore, educators should give more attention and encouragement to female PWD students to increase their entrepreneurial spirit.
