In the context of a global public health crisis, but also of an unprecedented economic, social and humanitarian crisis that created systemic tensions not only in terms of global governance, but also in the business environment, the paper analyses from a theoretical point of view how an organization can be successful in the long term in its field of activity by conducting a literature review involving recent behavioural studies. Success is analysed from the perspective of the people who make up the organization, people suitable for the activity they carry out, willing to adapt to the organizational environment and work synergistically, who contribute to increasing the resilience of the organization in which they operate. A first objective of the research consists in investigating the valences of the term resilience. In this sense, the authors seek to identify whether resilience is a property, or a sum of characteristics, whether it can be influenced or not. The second objective is to identify a model of good practices that the resilient manager can implement in the company, regardless of the offer that the internal and external environment presents to the company over time. This article will briefly highlight the results of the theoretical analysis of the concept of resilience (at the relational level, the resilience of the employee and the manager) in the long-term operation of a company in the business environment.
This paper represents the quintessence of our own research on the critical success factors identified by analysing the lives and deeds of 10 world leaders from an entrepreneurial perspective. In the research we looked for the answers to a series of questions such as: What defines these action people, who have calculated and taken risks to achieve the proposed objectives? What motivated these personalities to conquer minds, hearts, and territories? Where did they get the courage, they needed to act according to their dream? What were their strengths? What defines and differentiates a successful manager? Where is the boundary between the managerial style beneficial to the organization and the sinusoidal approach of the managerial path? The paper was made by substantiating these answers and developing a list of determining factors in achieving the success of an entrepreneur. The results obtained constitute a decalogue for entrepreneurs to achieve added value for the businesses they implement.
My paper starts from the assumption that empathy and imagination are closely connected, and that this connection offers rich ground for the exploration of moral values. However, as I aim at demonstrating, neither empathy nor imagination are presented as givens, but rather as means for rendering the infinite ethical complexity, guilt, ambiguity, contingency, and moral dilemmas faced by the characters' of Ian McEwan's 2001 masterpiece, Atonement. The paper calls attention to the novel's concern with the risks posed by inhabiting a fictional universe, with the amendments that universe grants to both readers and writers, and with the limitations it imposes on them. The novel's writerprotagonist possesses the power of inflicting trauma upon herself and other people as well as that of creating unity out of a chaotic and potentially destructive world through moral empathy and responsibility. My paper considers the novel's exploration of dramatic events that distort and reshape the characters' existence as a result of misinterpretation, misunderstanding, and misreading, with a view to highlighting the moral implications of telling stories and the power that a writer has to bend history to her own will.
The aim of the paper is to understand in depth the notion of medical ethics and how it can be applied by medical and auxiliary staff in daily work, whether we are considering a private health unit or a public unit with the same object of activity. The importance of the subject, in the authors' view, although it is always current, comes especially in the context of the need to improve the health of an increasing number of people affected by the SARS Cov2 pandemic, people who use health services.
