The aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of a vibration-based cell phone in detecting peripheral neuropathy among individuals with a risk of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU). The current study consisted of 3 phases: a pilot study, concurrent validity study, and interreliability study. A 128 Hz tuning fork and vibration-based cell phone using the Vibrations-Test app was compared in the primary care setting. The pilot study confirmed that the vibration-based cell phone has an adequate reliability ( r > 0.70, P < .001). The concurrent validity test involved 96 participants (aged 55.78 ± 8.32 years). The Pearson correlation test found the highest correlation in the fifth metatarsal heads ( r = 0.741, right feet; 0.772, left feet; P < .001). In the 4 primary care settings, the interrater reliability between nurses of the vibration-based cell phone were k = 1.000, 1.000, 1.000, and 0.720. The concurrent validity test found moderate to strong correlation results and that the interrater reliability had a strong agreement that was almost perfect. Thus, vibration-based cell phone applications can be used as screening tools for detecting neuropathy among individuals with a risk of DFU.
Contraception is a way to prevent and space pregnancies as well as to plan the number of children to improve family welfare so that they can provide maximum attention and education to children. The level of contraceptive use or the Contraceptive Prevalance Rate (CPR) in Indonesia was 57% in 2015 to 61.4% in 2018. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of hormonal contraceptives and the body weight of family planning acceptors. This type of research is a descriptive analytic study with a cross sectional research design. This research was conducted in the working area of the Landawe Health Center in August 2021. The analysis used the Fisher exact test. The results showed that most of the respondents' weight increased by 60%. The results of the analysis show that value is 0.032 < = 0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the use of hormonal contraception and body weight in family planning acceptors.
One of the efforts to prevent complications of diabetic neuropathy in diabetic patients is foot care such as washing the feet every day, drying and oiling them, examining the feet for foot ulcers and signs of pre-ulceration, and wearing well-closed footwear at home. or outside the house. In performing foot care, DM sufferers must have strong intentions and beliefs so that they can run it well. This study aimed to determine the factors related to the intention to perform foot care using the theory of planned behavior at the UPTD of the Poasia Health Center, Kendari City. This study used a correlation design with a cross-sectional study approach involving 32 samples. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis using Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there was no relationship between attitudes (direct = 0.9, indirect = 0.11), subjective norms (direct = 0.058 and indirect = 0.165) and behavioral control (direct = 0.022 and indirect = 0.037) on the intention to perform foot care in Type 2 DM patients. Further research should examine respondents who have understood or understood the importance of DM foot care. It is recommended that respondents and families still need foot care daily to prevent wound complications.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
