The Servant Leader Model is a theory that advances administration, supports trust, coordinates effort, future-arranges and utilizes moral capacity to engage others, focusing on good ethical practices. This study inspects the faculty of public and private universities in Peshawar for elements of servant leader behavior (wisdom, emotional healing and persuasive mapping) and effect on performance. Drawing on information from 95 teaching faculty members from different universities, we discovered help for the immediate impact of the all elements of servant leader behavior administration on universities performance. The findings add to servant leadership practices, in like manner to values-based administration, which conceivably may include novel literature regarding the relationship between servant leadership and performance of universities teachers. Implications form the last part of the paper.
Purpose of the study: The current study aimed to examine the impact of employee empowerment on reaching a better level of competitive edge through the mediating influence of ethical leadership. Methodology: Dimensions of competitive edge were employed, including (quality, responsiveness, innovation, and efficiency). A quantitative approach was adopted to attain the main objective of the study. A questionnaire was employed to collect data from 258 individuals' of Pakistani commercial banks. SPSS/ AMOS was used to screen and analyze the gathered data. Cronbach's Alpha was used to test the reliability of the study tool. Multiple regression analysis was performed to test the hypotheses of the study. Preacher and Hayes model was deployed to test the mediation effect. Principal Findings: The study's results indicated that ethical leadership mediates the relationship between empowerment and competitive edge. Besides, the study highlighted that ethical leadership influences empowerment in a way that leads to better efficiency and service quality, launching from leaderships' role in increasing awareness of service quality importance and leading employees towards being more creative and innovative. Application of this Study: The study recommended that workers in the bank sector should submit proposals that affect skills training and the expansion of their fields of empowerment in comparison with the previous stage and offer workers with proven skills a chance to engage in decision making to strengthen their skills and provide them with the ability to learn further in the field of banking. Novelty/Originality of this study: This is the first study that has analyzed the mediating role of ethical leadership between employees' empowerment and competitive edge in the context of listed Pakistani commercial Banks.
The impression of strengthening human capital to promote innovation and creation by planning the careers of organizational members in light of HRM practices and policies and to develop distinct mentalities, competencies and skills with the sole objective of providing a series of novel services and products has been getting importance. The current paper dig into the importance of career planning along with the career management as input for the career development and career commitment, and career satisfaction as the output of this relationship. A sample of 395 teaching staff of the colleges of Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan was randomly selected for the current research. To test the hypotheses of the study, structural equation modeling as a statistical technique for analysis of the empirical data was employed. Empirical results supported all the hypotheses of the study. These results illustrated that career planning along with the career management are very important roots of the career development which further engenders career commitment and career satisfaction. These results also validated the mediating role of career development in the relationship of career management and career planning on the one hand as antecedents and career commitment and career satisfaction as outcomes on the other hand. The study has uniqueness in the sense that the study is the first one that tests these hypotheses in colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. And that is why the study has both academic and practical implications. At the end a few recommendations has been put forwarded for future research.
Purpose of the Study: In this research, the association between the COVID-19 pandemic and cryptocurrencies' price volatility has been examined. Methodology: To check the contagion effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the price volatility of cryptocurrencies: BITCOIN, LITECOIN, XRP(RIPPLE), and ETHEREUM, the prices of all four are deployed from 10th August 2016 to 10th August 2020. The exponential generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (EGARCH) model is used to check the leverage effect exists or not. Stata 16 has been used to execute all the tests. Main Findings: The study's findings indicated that the leverage effect on the price volatility is present for LITECOIN, XRP(RIPPLE), and ETHEREUM but not for BITCOIN. Applications of the study: This study is significant for investors to develop strategies for investments and secure the transactions and control the creation of additional currency units. Also, it gives insight to the policy and decision-makers to articulate proper guidelines to overcome or minimize the effect of COVID-19 on cryptocurrency. Novelty/Originality of this Study: The motive for taking the crypto market into account is that the crypto market is one of the emerging markets and has started to have significance worldwide, linking with financial markets and economic growth. The leverage effect of COVID-19 is considered in this study as the epidemic has affected the supply and demand of goods due to lockdowns, blockages, and disruptions in delivery chains that lead to undiminished economic growth.
Human capital is the backbone of any business and its behavior reflects how the company would achieve its goals and objectives in its business. This study examines the relationship between psychological capital (PC) and employees’ engagement (EE) with the moderating role of conflict management (CM) in the financial sector of Pakistan. A questionnaire composed of established scales were administered to 278 employees in the financial sector, including various banks, investment companies, real estate companies, insurance companies, and brokerage firms at Islamabad. After determining the reliability, the model was analyzed with the help of correlation and regression. Research indicates that PC positively influences EE. This relationship improves further positively when conflicts are handled effectively. Overall, this effort contributes to the existing literature on the history of worker’s involvement by examining the direct impact of PC and CM on EE and moderation of CM.
