This study aimed to discuss the role of Islamization channels in the process of entry and spread of Islam in Malay Peninsula in seventh to eighth century AD. The research used qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. By taking data through interview, journals and textbooks, then conducting a description and analysis of the data, the results showed that the process of Islamization in Malay Peninsula in seventh to eighth centuries AD was carried out through several channels, namely trade, marriage, Sufi, politics, education, and arts. The study also showed that Islamic education functioned as the main channel in the process of Islamization. The role of Islamic education was mainly enhancing Muslims’ understanding about Islam which was implemented informally and non-formally. Informal education occurred through the interaction between the ulama and community carrying out everyday lives; while, nonformal education was conducted by holding learning activities in the mosque through small groups known as halaqah. The study concluded that Islamic education was the main channel of the Islamization process in Malay Peninsula.
Currently, information age encourages every organization to implement technology for its own convenience. Library as one of the professional institutions, develop automation systems as one application of the technology. The using of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) is growing in IT world because it has some advantages. Many organizations including the libraries choose to use FOSS. Senayan Library Management System or SLiMS is a web-based FOSS that can be used to build the library automation system . SLiMS has many advantages for the library automation systems. SLiMS is widely used in various types of libraries both in Indonesia and abroad. It has a great power in the SLiMS community that formed an important role in almost every city in Indonesia.
The research aims to comprehend the knowledge and utilization of electronic journal (Proquest, Science Direct, EBSCOhost, dan Cab Direct) subscribed by library of Institut Pertanian Bogor that have been performed by students as reference source in thesis writing, and obstacles faced while looking for the information. The research applies descriptive research with quantitative approach. Based on the data acquired: (1) The students' knowledge toward electronic journal subscribed is adequately high. 87,9% students realize existence of electronic journal service, 81,8% reference resource uses electronic media, and 49,5% utilizes electronic journal; (2) The electronic journal utilization level is 86,2% which utilizes electronic journal. Electronic journal utilization level as reference material is relatively high, because from 86,2% students which utilize electronic journal, 40% utilizes it 2-3 times in a month. 34,7% utilizes electronic journal with duration less than 2 hours, with downloading electronic journal collection searched, 34,7% uses 2 articles as reference material for thesis; (3) Obstacles in utilizing electronic journal are 52% caused by electronic journal collection mostly using English, and searched collection are not available. Although there are some difficulties, they keep utilize the electronic journal.
Penyelesaian sengketa secara online belum diatur secara eksplisit di Indonesia sehingga perkembangan yang pesat dari informasi, teknologi, dan bisnis tidak dapat seimbang dengan aturan hukum positif. Peneliti dalam hal ini membahas prospek penerapan online dispute resolution sebagai model penyelesaian sengketa bisnis di Indonesia. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan perundang-undangan, pendekatan konseptual, dan pendekatan futuristik. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa penyelesaian sengketa secara online merupakan salah satu wujud pembaharuan secara modern dari penyelesaian sengketa alternatif yang merupakan penyelesaian yang dikembangkan dengan teknologi dan internet melalui dunia maya dengan memudahkan dan menguntungkan para pelaku bisnis dalam upaya penyelesaian sengketa yang timbul sehingga hukum positif dapat mengimbangi laju perdagangan global, teknologi, dan informasi yang begitu cepat.
This paper aims to explore the Instagram utilization and its obstacles as a media promotion of Pustakalana’s library in Bandung, West Java. The research uses qualitative approach. The informants of this research are Pustakalana’s Instagram administrator and Pustakalana’s coordinator, while data collection techniques consist of observation, interview, literature study, and documentation. Triangulation method is used to test data validity and credibility. Technical data analysis involves of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that Pustakalana’s library has been utilized the Instagram to promote its library, such as various activities and services growing children’s creativity and imagination, events and workshops for parents, photographs of popular and recommended book collection, quotes to motivate children to read, and the atmospheres of the library and bookstore which are convenient and exciting, and another library services information. Instagram of Pustakalana’s library is not only used for promoting its activities, but also for sharing information and communication by its followers in media. Instagram features are almost entirely utilized by the library on promotions and interactions in other social media. The promoted content in Instagram account contains all information that relate to the library. Nevertheless, they are obstacles emerge in Pustakalana’s Library such as the incompatibility between the number of followers with the number of likers who are obtained on each uploaded post, and the lack of human resources.
