Little is known about the relationship between Qira’at and the development of Arabic grammar and morphology. This study, therefore, aims to explore grammatical and morphological rules of the Arabic language based on the modes of Qira’at. The study employs an analytical method in which grammatical and morphological rules are extracted from different modes of Qira’at based on scholars’ interpretations. The study revealed that grammatical and morphological rules are extracted from both usual and unusual modes of recitations. Additionally, there is no disagreement within the usual modes of recitations regarding the Arabic grammatical and morphological rules. Likewise, the usual and unusual modes of recitations are complementary to each other in terms of grammar and morphology. It is hoped that this study will be useful to educationists, particularly in the field of language, by providing evidence on how language is developed through Qira’at.
A pesquisa sobre al-Qira'at al-Mutawtirah (modos autênticos de recitação) é muito limitada. Este artigo, portanto, tem como objetivo explorar a retórica de al-Qira’at al-Mutawtirah à luz das manifestações retóricas árabes. Tais manifestações incluem enunciados informativos, interrogativos e declarativos. Os pesquisadores empregaram uma abordagem analítica para analisar as instâncias selecionadas de al-Qira'at al-Mutawtirah no Alcorão, em que tais declarações foram cuidadosamente examinadas. O estudo revelou que a retórica de al-Qira'at al-Mutawtirah se manifesta em seus significados. Os significados de Qira'at podem ser aprofundados quando tentamos descobrir suas manifestações retóricas subjacentes. Além disso, os significados ocultos de Qira'at podem ser descobertos quando combinamos os significados de Qira'at. Previu-se que este estudo pudesse avançar nosso conhecimento sobre o papel dos diferentes modos de citações na compreensão dos significados do Alcorão.
Tafsir was initially compiled along with the science of Hadith in the early phase of Islamic history and later separated as a distinct field. Afterwards, Islamic scholars wrote purposely on the repeated words that have multiple connotations, to clarify the literal association of the Quranic wording under the so-called "Al-Wujuh wal-Nadair", "Al-Ashbah wal-Nada'ir or "The same wording but different meanings". Linguistics, however, criticized such works for treating the repeated terms as homonyms. This paper tends to identify the basis upon which al-Wujuh wal-Nada'ir books compiled, and led the writers to refer to various meanings for a single word. The data collected through library research by tracing the related literature, and deductive approach was employed for analysis. The paper concluded that the compilation of al-Wujuh wal-Nada'ir was based upon tafsir and ta'awil, not homonymy. Therefore, Wujuh can be regarded as any other interpretive narrations.
