Introduction: Neonatal sepsis is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in newborn. Early onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) is a severe disease and has high mortality rate. The clinical signs of EONS are nonspecific and the confirmation of diagnosis may consuming time. Therefore, the diagnostic approach is necessary by considering the risk factors. Objective: The aims of this study are to identify the risk factors of newborn infants whose mother has risk factors of sepsis affecting the occurrence of EONS. Methods: This is a cohort retrospective study, conducted from January 2013 to June 2014 in Neonatology Installation of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo hospital, Makassar. The sample population included newborn infants whose mother has risk factors of sepsis. The information of the risk factors from infant and diagnoses of EONS was obtained from their medical record. Multivariate analysis and logistic regression formula were performed to predict the occurrence of EONS. There were 221 samples: 62 cases of EONS and 159 of control. Results: The results of multivariate analysis revealed 3 risk factors from infant which were associated to EONS: APGAR score <7 (p= 0.000, AOR 14.05 with 95% CI 5.48-35.98), gestational age <37 week (p= 0.000, AOR 13.45 with 95% CI 3.91-46.26), birth weight <1500 gram (p= 0.04, AOR 4.9 with 95% CI 1.08-22.25). Conclusion: Based on this study, it concluded that the risk factors of EOS were: APGAR score, gestational age and birth weight.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas V materi denah dan skala. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu quasi eksperimental dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 42 siswa yang terdiri dari 22 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 20 siswa kelas kontrol dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian dapat terlihat dari hasil perhitungan dengan uji t independen dan diperoleh t sebanyak 3,497 yang artinya lebih besar dari t 2.021, dengan taraf signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05, hal ini berarti bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa di kelas eksperimen dengan siswa di kelas kontrol. Dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas V SD Islam Al-Musyarrofah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan ini dapat bermanfaat kepada pihak-pihak terkait yang dapat memanfaatkannya seperti kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, serta peneliti selanjutnya.
Abstrak:Profesi keguruan (pendidik) merupakan profesi yang banyak diminati oleh sebagian masyarakat kita di tengah tuntutan terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan guru (pendidik). Hal itu juga berimplikasi terhadap efikasi diri mahasiswa dalam mempersiapkan diri untuk memilih profesi keguruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana pengaruh efikasi diri mahasiswa terhadap motivasi mahasiswa dalam memilih profesi keguruan pada mahasiswa PGSD semester akhir FIP-UMJ. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survai dengan pendekatan regresi-korelasi. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa PGSD semester akhir FIP UMJ dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh efikasi diri mahasiswa terhadap motivasi mahasiswa menjadi guru dengan nilai korelasi 0,525 dan determinasi 27,5% yang artinya kontribusi efikasi diri terhadap motivasimahasiswa menjadi guru dapat dijelaskan sebesar 27,5% sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain.Kata Kunci: Efikasi diri, motivasi mahasiswa, profesi guru.Abstract: Teaching profession (educators) is a profession that is highly demanded by a part of community whilst the demands on improving teachers’ welfare (educators). It also has implications for self-efficacy in preparing students to choose the teaching profession. This study aims to examining the extent of students self-efficacy influence to student motivation in choosing teaching profession at the end of the semester students PGSD FIP-UMJ. The method used is a survey method with regression-correlation approach. The research population is the entire student population at PGSD final semester FIP UMJ by using simple random sampling technique. The results showed that there is an influence of student self-efficacy on the motivation of students in being teachers with a value of 0.525 and determination correlation 27.5% which means that the contribution of self-efficacy to motivate students to be teachers can be explained by 27.5% while the rests are influenced by other variables.Keywords: Self-efficacy, student motivation , professional teacher.
This research was motivated by students' low mathematical reasoning ability in elementary schools and the demands of numeracy literacy through the minimum competency assessment (AKM) program launched by the government, requiring students to improve their reasoning abilities by applying a metacognitive approach. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the metacognitive approach in improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities on the material of the spatial structure. The method used in this study was an experimental research method with a quasi-experimental approach, with a sample size of 59 students (31 students in the control class and 28 students in the experimental class), with a pretest-posttest-only control group design. The results obtained from the calculation of the independent sample t-test revealed a t-count of 0.356, less than a t-table of 2.002. It indicates no difference in students' mathematical reasoning ability between the experimental and control classes. Thus, the metacognitive learning approach did not significantly affect the mathematical reasoning ability of students in sixth grade of State Elementary School of Pamulang 01. In other words, it can be said that the metacognitive learning approach for students at State Elementary School of Pamulang 01 was not appropriate for learning mathematics. The results of this study are expected to be useful to related parties who can use it, such as school principals, teachers, parents, students, and further researchers.
