Background: Cardiac arrest is a problem that has gotten surprisingly little attention in the ER. ER Patients are more likely (29%) than patients in the intensive care unit (25%) or on telemetry (25%), to encounter an initial ventricular fibrillation rhythm or pulseless ventricular tachycardia. Our research aims to identify the prognostic factors for cardiac arrest in the ER at KSMC. Method: From January 2022 to Jun 2022, a retrospective study was done in the tertiary care hospital KSMC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ministry of health introduced and oversees the hospital records system, which was used to collect data, in 2015. All persons over the age of 18 who experienced an in-hospital resuscitation attempt after cardiac arrest were eligible to take part in the study. Results: We included 98 people who received resuscitation techniques after suffering ER cardiac arrest. Patients who had ER cardiac arrest had an average age of 69.5 + 23.4 years. Overall, 60.2% of the patients were men. The two most common concurrent comorbidities were hypertension (43.8%) and coronary artery disorders (41.8%). The average time spent performing CPR was 22 minutes (IQR 11-49 minutes). When the factors influencing the success of resuscitation were determined using multiple regression analysis, resuscitation lasting fewer than 30 minutes was the most component that could predict the restoration of spontaneous circulation. Conclusion:Our study concluded that ER cardiac arrest more common in male gender. About one third of patients affected with ER cardiac arrest discharged home well.
Androgenic alopecia is a process of hair loss that occurs in both males and females, whereby hair becomes weak and thin. Plants have long been used to aid hair growth, with evidence suggesting benefit of some plant and herbal products in treating androgenic alopecia. This descriptive cross-sectional, facility-based study involved all patients with androgenic alopecia attending dermatology outpatient clinics in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Data was collected using an author designed selfadministered questionnaire. All 384 participants reported having previous knowledge about herbal products used in androgenic alopecia, with social media (71.4%) and family and friends (78.6%) being the most commonly sources of information. Henna (61.2%) and aloe (56.3%) were the most commonly used herbal products, with hair damage being the most common indication (73.4%). Yogurt (54.4%) and eggs (49.5%) were among the most commonly mentioned home remedies for androgenic alopecia. The distribution of herbal product usage among research participants was rather balanced, with female individuals reporting more frequent use than male participants (p 0.001). Approximately 15.4% of participants said herbal remedies were unhelpful, while 61.7% said they were beneficial in treating AA. Patients with androgenic alopecia frequently employ a variety of herbal treatments and home remedies, including henna, aloe, yogurt and eggs. Hair damage treatment was the most frequent usage of natural and home treatments. In addition to being safe when used with other treatments for androgenic alopecia, herbal remedies were thought to be a successful therapy.
BACKGROUND: Recently with the evolution of interest and electronic devices, education was changed greatly to be easier, effective, and reasonable. Emergency medicine is a sensitive part of medicine which need rapid stabilization, examination, diagnosis, and even management of the participant. AIM: In this study, we focused on emergency medicine registrars at King Saud medical city to know their preferred learning methods during extracurricular time. Furthermore, we investigated the relationship between certain demographic characteristics and preferred learning modality. METHODS: We used validation questionnaire design and tested by UTAH University in the United States of America, it was a simple survey designed to cover all important points in short time. We distributed the survey using online tool (survey monkey). RESULTS: Our study results found that podcasts was the most modality chosen by participants as beneficial and they expend their time more on podcasts. Age of participants was shown to be associated with use of internet and Google as leaning tool. We hope that researcher investigates this area of gab and future learning methods during emergency medicine doctors as well as other specialties of medicine. CONCLUSION: We found that participants chose podcasts as a learning channel more than other modalities in our study of emergency medicine registrars at all levels and their extracurricular educational programs. Age was substantially correlated with less use of Google and online searches for educational purposes.
