The article reveals the requirements for the content and organization of practical classes for the students of the first bachelor's degree at the stage of creation and ratification of new standards of higher education. The vitality of this research is primarily determined by the task of reforming the content, forms, methods and technologies of teaching "Methodology of music education" to higher education applicants. The article deals with one of the leading forms of organization of educational process in high schoolpractical classes. The requirements for preparation for practical classes by higher education applicants to achieve the success are analysed. The advantages of active productive work in practical classes are emphasized. The author states that practical classes involve a direct contact with students, which requires trusting relations, an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding. Effectively conducted practical class develops the ability to think, synthesize, compare, cognize and process a large amount of educational and developmental information. The article reveals the content, methods, forms of work in practical classes with higher education applicants of the first bachelor's degree in specialty "Secondary Education (Music)".
