The article describes the steps for organizing and conducting the ecological monitoring of surface water in order to shift Ukraine to the European standards in the field of water use and protection. The main water users-pollutants of the Western Bug River basin in the Lviv region were identified. The results of the water samples taken from the control bodies in 2018 were analyzed. A promising way to improve the work of the water basin management of the Western Bug River was proposed.
Abstract. 1 The effect of corrosion inhibitors and microbiocides presented in circulating water supply systems on the corrosion rate of structural materials has been studied. It is shown that using the mixture of zinc phosphonates aqueous solutions, special polymeric dispersants and microbicides based on bromine and quaternary ammonium salts provides dissolution of calcium carbonate deposits and the corrosion rate of steel materials at the lowest level. Rational modes of circulating water chemical treatment are proposed, which increase operational reliability. The electrical conductivity of KU-2 resin, which will be used for intermembrane filling during electrodialysis of makeup water in a circulating water supply system has been determined to prevent the salts concentration.
Abstract.
1The conditions of the immobilization of xylenol orange, methylthymol blue, pyrocatechol violet, and chromazurol S at the surface of AB-17×8 anionite were studied. The interaction of Cu(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) ions with obtained solid-phase reagents was investigated. The efficiency of the purification of apple juice with such natural adsorbent of Cherkasy deposits (Ukraine) as palygorskite was studied. The optimum conditions of the reactions, quantitative characteristics of the composition and the surface compound stability, the efficiency of the anion exchanger with the immobilized sulphophthalein dyes were determined.
Abstract.1 This work reviews the main methods of nitrogen and phosphorus removal from wastewater. The method of simultaneous removal of highly concentrated nitrogen and phosphorus was analyzed by physical and chemical precipitation, forming struvite, a by-product of magnesium ammonium orthophosphate hexahydrate. Laboratory investigations were conducted on the test solutions with the concentrations of ammonium nitrogen, phosphates, ions of magnesium and calcium corresponding to the ones of relevant elements in wastewater of swine complexes located in Lviv region, Ukraine. The analyses were done at various molar ratios of magnesium and phosphate ions and at various pH values. The comparative thermal analysis of chemical precipitation products and pure struvite was performed. The optimal conditions were identified to experience the maximum efficiency of simultaneous removal of ammonium nitrogen and phosphate ions from wastewater, forming MgNH 4 PO 4 ·6H 2 O. Recommendations on the use of the obtained product as a fertilizer were elaborated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
