This paper describes a sampling method and MMIC circuits that permits a simple but efficient technique to analysis UWB impulse radio (UWB IR) signals. It is composed of an ultra high speed sample and hold amplifier (SHA), a pulse generator and a very fine time control system. This proposed architecture can be useful for several applications from positioning and ranging to telecommunication functions, such as synchronization and demodulation. The SHA exhibits a 14 GHz bandwidth with a 1 dB ripple over the DC to 10 GHz bandwidth. Its conversion gain is 0.5 dB up to 8 GHz.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
