ChemInform Abstract Prolonged treatment of TiCl4 (II) with a large excess of SCl2 (I) yields the novel ionic title compound (III). Single crystals of this compound are submitted to an X-ray analysis. Compound (III) is found to be rhombohedral; Z=18.
ChemInform Abstract The reactions of Mo(CO)6 or W(CO)6 with S2Br2 at 90-110 rc C afford the novel molybdenum thiobromide (I) and the known tungsten thiobromide (II), respectively. The reactions of Mo(CO)6 or of W(CO)6 with equimolar mixtures of S2Br2 and Se2Br2 yield the known complexes (III) and (IV). Reaction of Mo(CO)6 with S2Cl2 affords the known complex (V), whereas the analogous tungsten complex (VI) is formed for the first time by reacting the complex (IV) with S2Cl2 i.e. by exchange of halogen. The novel compounds (I) and (VI) have a binuclear cluster structure with a metal-metal single bond and bridging S2 groups.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
