The crystal structure of diphenyl succinate, C t6HNO4, has been solved by direct methods from 1089 reflections collected on a Syntex P1 diffractometer. The final R w value is 0.046. The crystals belong to the space group P2~/c and have a unit cell of dimensions a = 9.096 (3), b = 5.688 (2), c = 13.305 (5) A and fl = 93.26 (2) °. The molecule consists of three planar moieties: the succinate group and the two phenyl groups which are at 67.7 ° from the succinate part of the molecule.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
