Balanced addition of essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals, easily digestible proteins, namely proteins of animal origin is an important factor for efficient feeding and pigs performance, that leads to a systematic search for new solutions when using feed additives. They provide digestibility, better absorbtion of protein, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Such supplements include blood plasma, meat and bone meal, fish meal and others. Besides fishmeal, other protein groups are dangerous in relation to African swine fever. Furthermore blood plasma additionally to the protein group contains immunoglobulins that can passively affect the immune system of piglets, An alternative to blood plasma is the animal nutrition supplement Globigen Jump Start, which is made from chicken eggs, containing essential and replaceable amino acids with a high percentage of absorption. Another important factor is the presence of specific IgY immuno-globulins, which being ingested have a negative effect on the pathogenic intestinal microflora, namely viruses, bacteria and cryptosporidium. Knowledge of the feed additive Globigen Jump Start effect gave impetus to the study of its effect on the piglets’ performance during the stressful period after weaning. The objective of the work was evaluation of the effect of the Globigen Jump Start fed within the pre-starter feed on the productive characteristics of post-weaning piglets. Based on the obtained research results, the best ones were shown in the experimental group, which was fed compound feed containing Globigen Jump Start in the amount of 2 kg / t of compound feed. It was found that at the end of the experiment, the weight of piglets in the control group was 19.2 kg, and in the experimental group - 21.0 kg, which is 1.8 kg or 9.4% more comparing to the control.
It has been established that the blood test is one of the quick methods of assessing the physiological state of the body under the action of exogenous stimuli, what is important when testing new feed additives in pig feeding. Studies of morphological blood parameters showed that feeding young pigs with starter feed with feed additive “Activo” helped to increase the red blood cells and hemoglobin level. Thus, the hemoglobin content in the blood of pigs of the second group increased by 7.5 % compared to the control. The difference between the control and experimental groups for red blood cells was highly significant (P < 0.001) in favor of the latter. The content of leukocytes and eosinophils in the blood of young animals of the experimental group increased in comparison with the same parameter of control group, while the content of bacillary and segmented granulocytes and monocytes is insignificantly reduced or at the control level. Biochemical parameters of blood showed that in experimental animals the content of total protein increased by 19.4 %, albumin by 11.1 %, globulins by 3.07 %. These results were obtained as a result of scientific and economic experiment on two groups-analogues of young large white breed pigs of PIC genetics, 25 animals each. The initial live weight of piglets was 12 kg. The starting feed of piglets consisted of barley stubble – 28 %, wheat – 29.79 %, corn – 15 %, soybean oilcake – 22.91 %, premix “Nutrimin” – 4.3 %. During the main period of the experiment, the animals of the experimental group received the feed additive “Activo” in the amount of 0.2 kg t, which was produced by the German company EW Nutrition GmBH. The level of feeding provided average daily gains by groups within the following limits: 562 and 621 g respectively control and experimental groups. The average daily weight gain of young pigs of the second group was higher than the control group by 52 g, or 9.14 % (P ˂ 0.001). Accordingly, the absolute gain in these animals increases by 1.4 kg. Feed conversion rate per 1 kg of gain decreased by 0.18, or 8.5 % (P < 0.001) comparing to the first.
Purpose. To reveal the features and expediency of using feed additives of plant origin, which have a positive effect on the health and productivity of animals. To substantiate scientific and practical approaches of the medicinal plants use in animal husbandry in the form of a sterilized herbal brew, extracts, dry components of medicinal plants, which will have preventive and medicinal properties for animals, especially young. Methods. Analytical methods of research, observation, comparison, analysis. Results. Herbal preparations are of little toxicity and contribute to a high therapeutic effect. Their use in the diets of farm animals and poultry is predetermined by the presence in their composition, in addition to food, biologically active substances, which, when ingested, even in small quantities, cause a specific physiological effect. Dietary supplements for farm animals and poultry with a preventive effect, which improve health, increase productivity and enrich rations with feed additives of various natures, are of great importance. Based on the research carried out, biologically active additives will be created for the use in feeding farm animals and poultry in order to normalize digestion process, regulate metabolism, boost immune system. Conclusions. Assessment of the effect of using medicinal plants as biologically active additives to the diets of farm animals has been carried out. Influence of medicinal plants on the immune system and health of animals, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, milk quality and productivity of dairy cows, improving the taste of poultry meat and young pigs livability was studied.
At the current stage of development of the feed industry a lot of feed additives are used for animal feeding. Everyone knows that period of piglet’s weaning from sows is always the most critical in the process of pigs’ raising. The further result of fattening depends on this period. Therefore, it is important that the diet is adapted to the age of the piglets and the development of their digestive tract. In recent years, either in the world or in Ukraine, the African swine fever (ASF) has become a widespread disease, leading to the decline and closure of a number of pig farms. This prompted the process of safe feed preparation review, and especially the use of a number of make up feed ingredient. The risk group includes porcine blood plasma and its products, which since 2018 have been temporarily banned for use in pig feed in China and a number of European countries. A positive factor in this is the reduction of new outbreaks of this disease. But the lack of blood plasma in prestarter feed for piglets can lead to reduced productivity of piglets due to the lack of animal protein, reduced feed intake, as blood plasma affects the taste of feed. The article presents the results of the feed additive Globigen Jump Start use instead of blood plasma in pre-starter feed for piglets from birth to 42 days of age and in the conditions of industrial inspection. It was found that the replacement of , blood plasma in pre-starter feed for suckling piglets and piglets after weaning for feed additive Globigen Jump Start contributed to an increase in daily intake by 6 g or by 2.6 %. At the same time, the cost of feed per weight gain 1 kg decreased in the experimental group by 7.89 %. As a result of industrial testing when replacing blood plasma with immunological feed additive in the ratio of 42 kg to 2 kg, respectively, has a significant economic impact on the cost of prestarter feed. This has a positive effect on the piglets' eating and digestibility of feed, which is reflected in better average daily gains, final weight and improved feed conversion and piglet safety.
Purpose. To determine the content of fat and fatty acids of total lipids in fat and oil production secondary products: in pressed powder, hydrofuse, bleaching and adsorption clays and deodorization distillate. Methods. In the process of the research, general scientific methods were used: deduction, scientific hypothesis and abstraction. For the laboratory research, the following methods were used: zootechnical analysis, liquid chromatography, spectrophotometry, titrimetry. Methods of variation statistics were used to process the obtained experimental results. Results. Indicators of lipid and fatty acid composition of by-products of fat and oil production were determined. It has been established that wastes of fat and oil production are highly nutritious products: the content of crude fat in pressed powder is 65.45%, in the hydrofuse – 68.11%, bleaching clay – 66.99% and adsorption clays – 27.05%; contains essential fatty acids – linoleic (from 0.52 to 57.77%) and α-linolenic acid (from 0.01 to 0.02%). The total amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids in pressed powder is 57.79%, in the hydrofuse – 51.19%, in bleaching clay – 0.53%, in adsorption clays – 11.6%, and in deodorization distillate – 3.94% of the total amount of acids. Among the group of saturated fatty acids, all these products contain palmitic (from 0.88% to 5.91%), stearic (from 2.80% to 12.01%) and arachidic (from 0.07% to 8.43%) acid. The amount of saturated fatty acids in the pressed powder is 8.66%, in the hydrofuse – 8.87%, in bleaching clays – 9.96%, in adsorption clays – 8.07% and in deodorization distillate – 76.9% of the total acids. Conclusions. Wastes of fat and oil production in their composition contain a significant amount of crude fat, most of the fatty acids are represented by oleic and linoleic acid, which characterizes their quality and biological value as a feed additive for feeding animals and poultry.
