The second installment of a two-paper series devoted to areas of the Chukchi Peninsula proposed for inclusion in an international "Bering Bridge" protected natural area (see Polar Geography, Vol. 20, No. 2, pp. 119-128) focuses on native vegetation communities associated with the region's hot and cold-water springs. The floristic composition of the spring-side plant communities is presented as an additional criterion that may be used in the process of selection of tracts most appropriate for inclusion in the special area. Various aspects of the vegetation are examined-spatial distribution, species composition, probable source region, and relationships based on size and cover density.
