THE FOCUS GROUP AS A TECHNIQUE FOR DATA COLLECTIONABSTRACT: This integrative review aimed to identify methodological characteristics used in Nursing scientific productions which used the Focus Group as a technique for data collection. The literature survey was undertaken in November 2010, in the databases of the Virtual Health Library, using the descriptors Focus Groups and Nursing. A total of 55 articles was selected, with the main results: publications since 2002; topics which were to do with, principally, Teaching and Research in Nursing; the number of focus group meetings varied between one and 20; the average number of participants was 10; more than 32% of the studies used thematic analysis. This study will support the construction of studies which use this data collection technique, taking into account that the focus group favors the perception of practices, actions and reactions to events, and behaviors and attitudes which influence health or illness. GRUPO FOCAL COMO TÉCNICA PARA OBTENER DATOS RESUMEN:Revisión integrativa que tuvo el objetivo de identificar características metodológicas utilizadas en las publicaciones científicas de la enfermería cuya técnica para obtener datos fue el Grupo Focal. La investigación bibliográfica fue realizada en noviembre de 2010, en las bases de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud, utilizando los descriptores Grupos focales y Enfermería. Fueron seleccionados 55 artículos, con los principales resultados: publicaciones a partir de 2002; temáticas acerca de, principalmente, la Enseñanza e investigación de la enfermería; número de encuentros focales varió de un a 20; media de participantes fue 10; más de 32% de los estudios utilizaron análisis temático. Este estudio podrá apoyar la construcción de trabajos que utilizen esa técnica para recoger datos, considerando que el grupo focal favorece la percepción de prácticas, acciones y reacciones a eventos, comportamientos y actitudes que influencian en la salud o enfermedad.
Estudo descritivo que objetivou conhecer as práticas de atenção ao parto desenvolvidas pelos profissionais de saúde no cuidado à parturiente adolescente. Os dados foram extraídos da pesquisa "Atenção humanizada ao parto de adolescentes", referente ao Município de Pelotas-RS, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, no período de 2008 a 2009. A população constituiu-se de profissionais de saúde do centro obstétrico de um hospital de ensino público. A análise foi sistematizada a partir do Manual Assistência ao Parto Normal, da Organização Mundial de Saúde. Os resultados evidenciaram que práticas úteis, como a intimidade e a privacidade, escolha do tipo de parto e o estímulo à amamentação, não são respeitadas. Como práticas prejudiciais salientaram-se a posição de litotomia e o uso da ocitocina. Destacaram-se como práticas inadequadas a restrição alimentar e a utilização da amniotomia. Concluiu-se que as práticas de atenção ao parto contemplaram parcialmente a Política de Humanização do Parto e Nascimento.
RESUMENEn este papel, de abordaje cualitativo, intentamos entender el concepto del curso de enfermería de la Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina sobre la salud del trabajador. Fueron contestadas tres preguntas hechas a veinte académicos: ¿Cuál es tu comprensión sobre la salud del trabajador? ¿De qué forma la enfermería puede ayudar a mejorar la salud del trabajador? ¿Cuál es la relación entre el trabajo y el estilo de vida del trabajador? Los resultados habían sido organizados en forma de temas: conceptos sobre la salud del trabajador; carácter de la enfermería en el contexto de la salud del trabajador y relación entre trabajo y estilo de vida. Destacamos la interrelación entre trabajo y estilo de vida y trabajo con la salud del trabajador. El énfasis a las contemplaciones hechas refuerzan la necesidad que ese tema tiene para ser discutido en las universidades, así como, estimular a los académicos a pensar en su propia salud desde el principio del curso. De esa forma, creemos que puedan incorporar acciones a la protección de su salud en el trabajo. DESCRIPTORES ABSTRACTIn this paper, which uses a qualitative approach, we try to understand the conception undergraduate Nursing students at the Federal University of Santa Catarina have regarding worker's health. Three questions were asked to twenty students: What does he/she understand as worker's health? How can Nursing help to improve worker's health? Which is the relation between work and lifestyle? The results were grouped in the following themes: conceptions of worker's health; the role of Nursing in the context of worker's health; and relation between work and lifestyle. We highlighted the interrelation between work and lifestyle, and between work and worker's health. Our reflections reinforce the need to discuss these themes in the universities so that students are stimulated to think about their own health since the beginning of their academic life. That way, we believe that they will be able to incorporate protective actions to their own health in their daily's work.
