Task statement: This article is an attempt to study the issues of quality management of business processes and production with respect to companies operating in the agricultural sector. The global agribusiness is a special sphere of production, which is aimed at meeting the most important physiological needs of people. Therefore, the quality of the products, and thus the quality of the business processes are crucial for preservation and enhancement of the health of the world's population. The approach of this article is based on the cross-disciplinary concept of quality management with regard to the specifics of the operation and development of agro-industrial companies. Results: the study of theoretical, methodological, and empirical aspects shows that, in recent decades, the dynamics of the global agribusiness has changed significantly, and it is caused by multiple objective factors. At the same time, forecasts say the world food production will fall short of the real need of the world population in this products, so further stimulation of sustainable development of the world's agribusiness can be performed through total quality management as well. For agricultural companies, quality management should be based on the Deming Cycle concept; this approach orients all business processes to implementation of the eight core principles of total quality management. Conclusion / recommendations: materials contained in this article show the special role of the global agribusiness in social and economic processes. The proposed scheme of quality management is recommended for use in the agricultural companies of the complete production cycle. For companies of the non-complete cycle, the scheme can be adapted by eliminating unused links.
Setting the objective: this article is aimed at examining theoretical topical issues related to modeling innovation development within the setting of the "knowledge economy". Our new understanding of the role of three crucial institutional entities (the state, business, and science) leads us to reconsider and look for new model solutions on the formation of national innovation systems as environments that ensure sustainable national social-economic development. A goal-oriented and consistent partnership between the state, business, and science within the frame of the nascent information society and the knowledge economy helps resolve issues in ensuring sustainability not only at the level of national social-economic systems but that of the World System as a whole. The approach taken in this article lies in the following: the author is using as the article's main methodological tool the institutional evolution approach complemented by a methodology for the formation of national innovation systems through interaction between the state, business, and science. Results: the shift to new social-economic relations requires reforming the links between social entities and redistributing their roles in ensuring national social-economic development. Realizing the Triple Helix model in practice as a basis for the self-organization and evolving of national innovation systems, with the inclusion of global social responsibility in it as an element that helps ensure proper interrelationship of the components, helps neutralize the negative consequences of the action of the market mechanism for the creation of innovations and maximize the positive effects of the systemic globalization of the innovation sphere. Conclusion / recommendation: materials provided in this article not only illustrate the new special role of the Triple Helix model in shaping the national innovation economy but demonstrate the major changes taking place within the national and global social-economic system. The materials provided can be recommended for the use in working out methodologies for constructing self-organizing and self-developing national innovation systems.
Territorial location has been a criterion for the development of an industry. In this regard, the formation of a single economic space between enterprises (organizations) of various forms of incorporation can be considered as an instrument for leveling the unevenness of economic development, which has been proved as a successful clustering practice. This efficient integration has transformed clustering into a national priority on a global scale. The constant decline in the growth rate of world GDP is being discussed, and measures are suggested to solve this problem through the formation of efficient spatial relationships, the creation of which is a condition for expanding the number of "locomotives" of growth that carry out intensive exchange of production factors. Clustering has been the result of efforts to achieve competitiveness for quite a long time. Further economic development is impossible without the development and the implementation of a new clustering model involving an increase in the level of cohesiveness of the monetary policy and the clustering strategy. A practical tool for transforming the economic space is the formation of clusters, the distribution of which allows achieving a synergic effect ensuring the growth of performance of economic entities in the region, which implies a change in the design of the monetary policy. In this study, a hypothesis about the existence of a significant relationship between the costs of creating and implementing innovations and the volume of innovative products received has been put forward and confirmed, which is the rationale for monetary support for competitiveness.
