The article considers the particular influence of dynamic and integrity of the historical process in the Cossack's prose tradition. It inherited not only the semantic and formal stereotypes of the squad epic, but also peculiar outlook and original metaphysics that outlined the position of human beings in the world, and the philosophical morality of the ancient period, adapted to the specific reality of the Cossack era. The natural connections of Cossack's prose with public life, ethnic traditions, and material culture determined the necessity to study as an important source for ascertainment the processes of existence and development of the Cossack epic system. It was also analyzed what historical circumstances brought the appearance in prose of homesickness, longing for family, native land, as well as tragic rupture of family ties into the prose of a permanent motive. The Cossacks in Ukraine appeared together with the colonization of the marginal lands, which were a part of the Lithuanian-Polish state. It has been found that the structure of many prose samples naturally includes toponymic motives based on folk etymology, which give the works a notable "historical" authenticity. It was found that in the period of formation, the Cossacks were not a military organization, it was a kind of household phenomenon or craft. In this sense, the Cossacks have been known since ancient times, but the term appeared in the late 15th century and they were transformed into a social stratum during the 12th century. According to our analysis, the main premise for the prose tradition of the Cossacks background were historical factors that have created the great national movement within the current Cherkasy region that involved the bulk of the population of the Middle Dnieper in the 16th century. Different conditions of the historical being of the eastern and western regions influenced the centers of epic creativity, coinciding with the ethno-destriction of Ukraine.
A new article by Ukrainian experts in ethno-pedagogy for the first time in science maximally summarizes the neuro-pedagogical, psychological and social potential of human development through the reproduction of folk games. The aim of the article is not only to consider the thematic diversity, but also to demonstrate how Ukrainian folk children's games and ancient adult games have a natural influence on the formation of worldview, socialization and maturity with the involvement of physical, neurophysiological and psycho-pedagogical mechanisms. Using general scientific, historical and neuroscientific methods, we proved the imitative, compensatory, sublimational, imitative, ritual and entertaining nature of folk games. Within the limits and possibilities available to the authors, neuroscientific commentary is presented to substantiate the underlying functions and mechanisms of folk games. The main result of the article is the creation of the fullest possible classification of the developing educational potential of folk games at two levels of generalization (general pedagogical aspects and specific functions). The authors were also able to review related literature on the topic, identify valuable observations and gnostic lacunas in need of scientific explication and ekplanatornost.
The article is dedicated to the characteristics of the “life/death” explication in prose narratives of Slavic folklore in particular. The authors were able to study and understand the archaic beliefs immanent for the ancient Slavs through researching the words and fairy-tale images that personified life and death in this type of literature. The relevance of this topic derives from the insufficiency in the research of representation of “life/death” binary opposition in various languages and in folk prose narratives. This study contributes to understanding the attitude towards this binary opposition in the distant past and its impact on the modern people’s attitude towards life and death. The purpose of the study is to investigate the binary opposition and its perception among people through folk prose narratives. The authors chose an integrated methodological approach for researching this issue. It helps to comprehensively analyse the attitude towards the binary opposition. The study successfully used the methodology and techniques applied in humanities, primarily in philology and philosophy. While researching the topic the authors found out that in some cases this binary opposition is perceived figuratively, and in others cases it is dramatically diametrical, which is reflected in fairy tales, proverbs, curses, etc.
