Statistics is one of the subjects that must be taught in almost every study program. Many students consider the course to be a pretty scary subject because the material is more calculating. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of ability and the location of students' understanding errors in the statistics of the Health Information Management Study Program at the Santa Elisabeth College of Health, Medan. This research uses research with survey method. In this study, students were asked to solve statistical problems related to the statistical material that had been studied previously. The place of this research is the Santa Elisabeth College of Health, Medan in the Health Information Management Study Program, Medan City, North Sumatra Province. The research time to obtain data and information was implemented in June 2022. The population in this study were students of level I and II who programmed statistics courses for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 30 students. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The level of students' understanding ability in the statistics course of the Health Information Management Study Program, Santa Elisabeth College of Health, Medan is in the high category, namely 62%; (2) Of the entire sample, 62% answered the questions correctly, and 38% answered incorrectly. From these results, it can be seen that the percentage of students who answered correctly was greater than those who answered incorrectly. (3) The results showed that the errors in answering statistical questions occurred because students had problems at the stage of reading the questions, understanding, transforming, processing skills and in choosing the right answer.
Processing of the daily inpatient census starts from filling out the daily inpatient census by the head of the room or the person in charge and the daily inpatient census is sent to the medical record room every working day at 08.00 am. Information generated from daily inpatient census data in the form of inpatient management indicators consisting of BOR (Bed Occupancy Rate), TOI (Turn Over Interval), LOS (Length Of Stay), BTO (Bed Turn Over) to monitor activities in hospitalization and GDR (Gross Death Rate), NDR (Net Death Rate) to assess the quality of inpatient services. Implementation of the Daily Inpatient Census At Elisabeth Hospital Medan, it was found that the preparation of the daily inpatient census was guided by the technical instructions for filling out the daily inpatient census, but because the technical instructions in each ward were no longer available, there was no need to make the daily inpatient census. . Data collection methods used in this study were interviews and active participation observations using research instruments in the form of interview guidelines. The results showed that the standard procedure at RSE Medan in making the daily inpatient census had not been fully implemented when sending the daily inpatient census from the ward to the medical records department. The source of data in making the daily inpatient census is the inpatient service register book. The method of making a daily inpatient census at RSE Medan is not in accordance with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2006).
