Penyakit ini bersifat kronis dan bila tidak mendapatkan pengobatan akan mengakibatkan cacat menetap berupa pembesaran kaki, alat kelamin baik perempuan maupun laki-laki. Penyakit kaki gajah ini umumnya terdeteksi melalui pemeriksaan mikrokopis darah. Sampai saat ini hal tersebut masih dirasakan karena microfilaria hanya muncul didalam darah pada waktu malam hari selama beberapa jam (nocturnal perioicity). Selain itu berbagai metode pemeriksaan juga dilakukan untuk mendiagnosa penyakit kaki gajah diantaranya ialah dengan yang dikenal sebagai penjaringan membrane, metode konsentrasi knott dan teknik pengendapan. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi penyakit kaki gajah dan penyebabnya, serta menerapkan metode certainty factor dan merancang sistem pakar untuk mendiagnosa penyakit kaki gajah. Untuk mendiagnosa penyakit kaki gajah dengan menggunakan metode certainty factor. Pasien akan diberikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan untuk mendapatkan nilai kemungkinan dan kemudian nilai yang didapat akan diselesaikan dengan rumusan

AbstrakTinter adalah orang yang bertugas untuk melakukan pemasangan kaca film pada kaca bangunan ataupun kaca mobil. Seorang tinter haruslah memiliki beberapa kriteria khusus yang telah ditetapkan oleh perusahaan. Untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kualitas kerja seorang tinter, perusahaan rutin mengadakan pemilihan tinter kaca film terbaik setiap tahunnya. Tetapi, pemilihan tinter terbaik yang dilakukan saat ini masih belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kriteria yang ditentukan dan pada akhirnya pemilihan dilakukan berdasarkan penilaian pimpinan perusahaan. Hal ini dikhawatirkan akan menimbulkan perpecahan antar sesama tinter yang merasa bahwa pemilihan tersebut tidak adil atau tidak objektif dan tidak sesuai prosedur. Untuk itu diperlukan suatu sistem pendukung keputusan untuk pemilihan tinter terbaik. Sistem pendukung keputusan yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan metode Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) karena metode ini merupakan metode pengambilan keputusan multikriteria berdasarkan pada konsep perangkingan. The method used in this expert system uses case-based reasoning (CBR) method, since this method yields the value of kmiripan a case with the former by recalling similar events that have occurred in the past then use the knowledge or information to solve a new problem, or in other words solve the problem by adopting solutions that have been used in the past.
