This study also aims to produce e-modules based on multi-representations in solid-state physics introductory subjects with good validity and practicality. The products produced are in the form of e-modules in the form of 3D flipbooks, including video, animation, sound, flash, and hyperlinks. This study uses the Rowntree development model. This model has three stages, planning, development, and evaluation stage. In the evaluation phase, Tessmer formative evaluation used, which consist of 5 stages, self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. In the expert review stage, the average results of evaluations from experts obtained at 4.6 or 92.2% with a very valid category. The one-to-one evaluation stage found that the average result of the student questionnaire's impression on the use of teaching materials was 89%, with the category very practical. At the small group evaluation trial stage, the average score of the students' questionnaire assessment towards the use of teaching materials was 93.48% (very practical category). Based on the assessment that has been done, the e-module (electronic module) based on a multi-representation in solid-state physics introductory subject has been successfully developed with good validity and practicality.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi sains fisika siswa SMP Kelas VII di Sumatera Selatan menggunakan kerangka PISA. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mendapatkan gambaran kemampuan literasi sains dalam IPA (fisika) siswa tanpa memberikan perlakuan kepada siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data berbentuk tes tertulis. Penilaian disesuaikan dengan kriteria penilaian PISA. Variabel penelitian ini adalah pencapaian kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada konten fisik. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan purposive sampling meliputi SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 kabupaten Ogan Ilir pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Hasil Penelitian diperoleh persentase pencapaian siswa yang paling tinggi pada level 2 sebesar 54,9 dan terendah pada level 5 yaitu hanya sebesar 28,1 dari skala maksimum 100. Secara keseluruhan rerata persentase hasil kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan berdasarkan Kompetensi Proses Sains, yaitu 47,1. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan secara keseluruhan ditinjau dari level soal dan kompetensi proses sains diperoleh hasil masih sangat rendah. This research aims to analyze the ability of Physics Science Literacy of Grade VII Middle School Students in South Sumatra by using the PISA Framework. The research method is a quantitative descriptive method that aims to get a picture of scientific literacy abilities in science (physics) students without giving treatment to students. The assessment is adjusted to the PISA assessment criteria. The variables of this study was the achievement of students' science literacy skills in physical content. Data collection techniques by written tests. Samples were taken using purposive sampling and the research sample are SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 Kabupaten Ogan Ilir The results of the study showed that the highest percentage of student’s achievement at level 2 was 54.9 and the lowest was at level 5, which was only 28.1 from the maximum 100 scale. While the overall percentage of the results of the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra was based on Science Process Competence. that is 47.1. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra as a whole in terms of the level of questions and competency of science processes are still very low.
Background A high prevalence of anxiety in the elderly often leads to decreased quality of life (QOL). A restrictive diet can increase the production of ketone bodies that encourage mood enhancement, neural protection and pain reduction. This study aimed to identify whether Dawood fasting could increase the QOL of the elderly by reducing anxiety. Methods This research was a quasi-experimental study involving a pretest–post-test control group design. The subjects were pre-elderly and elderly or healthy people aged more than 50, and a consecutive sampling method was employed. The fasting group observed the fast of Dawood, in which they abstained from eating, drinking, or having sexual intercourse from the break of dawn to dusk with the expressed intent to fast every other day. The fast was observed for 22 days (11 fasting days). Anxiety was examined using the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A), while QOL was identified using the Indonesian version of the World Health Organisation Quality of Life (WHOQOL). Results A total of 48 respondents participated in this study with 24 respondents observing the fast of Dawood and 24 others not fasting. Results showed that the 22 days of Dawood fast reduced respondents’ complaints about anxiety by 4.37% and was significantly different from the non-fasting group (p=0.001). There was an increase in the QOL of the fasting group (p=0.019), although no significant difference was found when compared to the non-fasting group. Conclusions The fast of Dawood reduced anxiety in the pre-elderly and elderly.
Enhancing technology be able to create each field easier with no exception in the field of Education. There are a lot of learning media making teaching and learning process work well. One of the media is a virtual media used to do physics experiments. The present study aimed to examine the effect of virtual physics experiments on students’ mastery of concepts based on learning styles. The quasi-experimental study held at one of the state senior high schools in West Nusa Tenggara Province. This study used only a posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two groups, an experimental and a control with 58 respondents consisting of cluster random sampling techniques. The results showed that virtual experiments affect the mastery of the student concepts with auditory and kinesthetic learning style trends, whereas students who have a visual learning style tendency did not affect.
