b A gas chromatographic methodwith flame ionization detection for the determination of lead alkyls and scavengers in gasolines is described. These compounds are separated in a partition column and hydrogenated using a nickel catalyst, and the resulting methane and/or ethane is separated from gasoline hydrocarbons on an adsorption column. The equipment employed and its application to the continuous analysis of leaded gasolines are discussed. The reliability of results and the lack of interferences are verified with both laboratory-prepared and commercial samples. HE steady increase in the use of mix-
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
