This study aims to examine the expected qualities of teacher graduates from literature preparation programs, and the importance of these qualities to the classroom practice, according to the perceptions of school teachers. Two hundred eighteen (218) participants were conveniently selected from various schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Literature graduates from teacher preparation programs in 2017 are the subject to be reported by these participants. A 78-item researchers-constructed questionnaire was distributed by google form and hard copy. This questionnaire asked participants about the expected qualities of literature graduates and its importance to teaching practice in related to teacher graduates’ knowledge, instructional strategies, personal characteristics, and professional development. Results indicated that, there are 60 required qualities from literature graduates and all are perceived as “important” to school practice. Implications are drawn from the findings for teacher education and for further researchers.
Teaching Vietnamese as the second foreign language is the important issues in preserving and developing the Vietnamese language. Using system research method, interdisciplinary research, practical research on curriculum development, lesson plans (typically through the Vietnamese language teaching program for Laotians), this paper presents the opinion in building this curriculum and the lesson model of teaching Vietnamese as the second foreign language and how to use this model effectively. Especially, we present the exercises type in each learning activities (speaking, listening, reading and writing) with: the idea of designing, number, the order, time and how to use these exercises to develop students' ability. These results can use researching and teaching Vietnamese for foreigners as a second language individually and teaching Vietnamese in general.
In recent years, autonomy in preschool and general education known as an educational renovation trend has been stated in guidance documents and implemented in some preschools and general schools. However, the theoretical and practical aspects still need to be further studied. The study focuses on exploring the concepts and models of autonomy in preschool and general education in the world and Vietnam's current context. Therefore, we propose an autonomy model in preschool and general education and some solutions to effectively implement this issue, contributing to renovation and improving the quality of education and training.
