Introduction: Role-play is an effective teaching strategy that helps students obtain the essential skills to be suitable for future careers. Objectives: 1. Exploring the perception of nursing students about the role-play method. 2. Surveying satisfaction of nursing students about role-play method. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, combining quantitative and qualitative on 156 2nd nursing students at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Assessing perception of role-play by 20 questions on a 5-point Likert scale and in-depth interview to find out student’s awareness; Satisfaction of role-play was assessed by the Learning Satisfaction scale consisting of 9 questions on a 5-point Likert scale. Results: Most students had a positive perception of the role-play method, accounting for 85.9%; increasing effective learning, helping self-development, and enhancing connection are the points that students like the most from this method. Besides that, internal factors from students and external factors from situations and scenarios of lessons are obstacles that students face with the role-play method. Students are quite satisfied with the role-play method, reaching 3.5 ± 0.5 points, which students are satisfied because this subject is effective in acquiring communication skills, reaching the highest level (3.7 ± 0.6 points). Conclusion: Students had a positive perception and were quite satisfied with the role-play method. It is necessary to maintain and upgrade the widespread adoption of role-play as an active and effective teaching strategy in nursing education. Introduction: The clinical competence of nursing students is a core factor in relation to professional standards and patient safety. Objectives: This study aims to determine the clinical competence of nursing students and related factors. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, was conducted on 306 nursing students who participated in clinical practice at the hospital. The research content consists of 3 parts: (1) General characteristics of the research objects; (2) The clinical competence of nursing students is assessed by the Clinical Competency Measurement Tool questionnaire consisting of 34 questions divided into 5 domains: Nursing process, Nursing skills, Nursing Leadership, Communication, Professional development; and (3) The influencing factors and propose solutions to improve clinical competence. Results: The clinical competence of nursing students reached the average level with 3.47 ± 0.34/5 points; the Professional development ability got the highest score with 3.60 ± 0.45 points and the Nursing skill got the lowest score with 3.29 ± 0.44 points. There was a statistically significant relationship between the clinical competence of nursing students and the level of satisfaction with clinical practice (p<0.001); clinical practice learning method (p=0.001) and grade level (p<0.001). The results of the qualitative analysis show a more comprehensive view of the factors affecting the clinical competence of nursing students, including factors from individual students, factors related to clinical lecturers and the clinical practice environment. Conclusion: The clinical competence of nursing students reached the average level. It is necessary to improve the level of clinical practice satisfaction as well as to find out appropriate strategies and learning methods for nursing students to enhance their clinical competence. Background: Adolescence is vulnerable subjects and faces many risks that greatly impact their health and development in the future, but adolescents are not really getting the proper care from the health care system. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of health risk behaviours among adolescents in Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam, and to determine related factors to adolescents’ health risk behaviours. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 934 adolescents in Thua Thien Hue province, with a multi-stage sampling method. The Youth Risk Behaviour Survey of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention was used for data collection in this study. The SPSS 20.0 software was used to analyse data. Results: The proportion of overweight-obesity adolescents accounted for 14.6%. The prevalence of adolescent bullying was 14.0%, the higher the adolescent high, the lower the risk of bullying (OR=0.981, p=0.03). The proportion of smoking was low (2.8%), while the alcohol use rate accounted for 10.0%. Adolescents in high school have a higher risk of smoking and alcohol use than those in secondary school. The proportion of adolescents who attempted suicide was slightly high (16.0%). Adolescents who felt lonely, whose parents did not know what the adolescent did in their free time, and does not respect them were several factors that increase suicide intention. Conclusions: School adolescent violence, overweight-obese status, alcohol use, smoking, and suicide intention are health problems occurring among adolescents in Thua Thien Hue. Besides, the feeling of loneliness increases the risk of suicide intention. Adolescents need to receive proper attention from their parents, as well as the healthcare system.
