Skin aging is a complex biological process, and it growing fast in number. Fractionated laser has been considered as the gold standard for skin rejuvenation. Stem cell-based therapy also becoming a promising new approach for treating this condition. To investigate the effect of fractional erbium laser and topical amniotic membrane stem cell (AMSC)-metabolite product (MP) on skin aging. A total of 9 female participants, were included in controlled split-face study. The participant’s face was randomly allocated to AMSC-MP or saline, immediately after fractional laser procedure. All participants received 3 sessions of treatment with 4-weeks intervals. An evaluation was done using pre- and post- treatment photographs and skin analyzer, Janus. Laser-assisted transdermal delivery drug using topical AMSC-MP give a better improvement on skin pore and spot UV compared with the control group. The wrinkle and skin tone showed different results maybe because of multifactorial factors influence. No serious adverse events were found. This study suggest that fractional erbium YAG laser treatment combined with topical AMSC–MP is effective and safe for facial rejuvenation in Asian patients.
The unprecedented survival of individuals who sustain acute burns and other trauma has increased the necessity for effective modalities in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Hypertrophic scars and contractures are common following thermal burns injury. Cutaneous scars can be complex and thus the approach to therapy is often multimodal with only moderate success. Intralesional corticosteroids have long been a main treatment of hypertrophic and restrictive scars. Recent advance in laser technology and applications now provide additional options for improvements in function, symptoms, and cosmesis. The ablative zones created by fractional ablative lasers may also be used in the immediate post-operative period to enhance delivery of drugs and other substances. This case report shows the successful use of fractional laser assisted corticosteroid to treat burn scars. It is need more extensive clinical trial to prove this method can be a therapeutic option for the extensive cutaneous scarring in burn patients.
Hypertension (HT) is a serious medical condition that significantly increases the risk of heart, brain, kidney, and other organ diseases. The disease course increases along with age and a bad lifestyle. One strategy to prevent the increasing number of HT sufferers is through health promotion. In the digital era, technology is a strategic approach to controlling HT. One of Indonesia's existing health applications is the Electronic-Muhammadiyah Monitoring Chronic Disease (E-MMCD) application. However, its effectiveness has not been tested in increasing the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of people with HT. This quasi/experimental research was conducted using consecutive purposive sampling at Husada Utama Hospital, Surabaya, from September to November 2022. The number of samples was 57 patient respondents for each group, the intervention (I) and the control (C) group. The data was carried out using the pre-and post-test questionnaire after 1 month intervention period using the E-MMCD application. In group C, health promotion using applications was not given. Knowledge in groups C and I was insignificant different. Attitudes and behavior in group C were increased with an insignificant difference, while in group I were increased with a significant difference.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
