Abstracts:Electroluminscent colloidal quantum dots have the potential to offer saturated colours satisfying the new more demanding REC 2020 (ITU-R-BT 2020) standard. This paper reports our attempt to match the REC 2020 colour co-ordinates with red CdSe/ZnS and CFQD ® and green CFQD ® . We report here red quantum dot based electroluminescent devices (QLEDs) that meet the colour coordinates requirement set by REC2020. We also report the world first dark red CFQD ® (heavy metal free) ((x,y), (0.690, 0.309)) devices. The electroluminescent characteristics of devices from both CdSe/ZnS and cadmium free quantum dots are compared.
Colloidal quantum dots have the potential to offer saturated colours satisfying the new more demanding REC 2020 (ITU-R-BT 2020) standard. We report here red quantum dot based electroluminescent devices (QLEDs) that exceed the colour co-ordinates requirement set by REC2020. We achieved colour co-ordinates of (0.712, 0.288) that exceeds the requirement. By using appropriate device architecture and quantum dot size, we achieved a very high efficiency of 4 cd/A for CIE (x,y) of (0.708, 0.292) meeting the REC 2020 specification. A world record efficiency of 10 cd/A and 5.8 lm/W for CIE (x,y) of (0.695, 0.305) has been achieved by employing a novel hole transporter.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
