An urban design has become the latest technology in having a quality life for users. With increasing mobility of individuals, there is an increase in demand for a wayfinding system to people who are on the move. However, research regarding the use, evaluation and effect are limited. This research reviews on the conventional and Augmented Reality (AR) based wayfinding approaches and their correlation with the user's spatial ability. A set of questionnaires and research framework with the aid of AR prototype will be used to achieve results.
Persuasive technology is an evolving form of behaviour change agent that is becoming more popular with the emergence of social media. In 2020, 81% of Malaysian are active social media users who contribute to the escalation of behavioural changes using online platforms. This paper provides a verifiable review of 10 years of persuasive technology using social media for Malaysian healthcare and behavioural changes with the concern to (1) reviewing the effectiveness of persuasive technology using social media to behaviour changes, (2) outlining the technology methods, research methods, strategies, theories and targeted behaviour (3) stating the issues regarding the studied persuasive technologies and (4) highlighting the future research recommendation. This paper presents the findings of an ongoing study that explores the potential relationship between visitors' sense of direction and spatial ability in the context of navigation experience on a university campus. A structured questionnaire and tests were administered to 57 visitors who were unfamiliar with the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Puncak Alam, Selangor campus. The findings suggest that visitors' sense of direction and spatial ability are not significantly correlated. Although previous research has demonstrated a positive correlation between spatial visualization ability and a sense of direction, the relationship between these two factors may be more complex. Effective wayfinding systems require the consideration of visitors' spatial ability, as well as other cognitive processes involved in wayfinding, such as attention, memory, and decision-making of visitors' spatial ability as well as other cognitive processes involved in wayfinding, such as attention, memory, and decision-making. Wayfinding systems function as a concept intended to assist people in finding their way from a point to a final destination efficiently and as quickly as possible while also making the journey a pleasant experience. Although the concept appears to be simplistic, planning a wayfinding system is a challenging task particularly in complex environments. This paper attempts to explain the prime concept and the function of wayfinding information systems (WIS) focusing on a complex environment based on an extensive review of literature. The purpose of WIS is not only to provide an efficient navigation map but also to create a pleasant and less stressful atmosphere especially to exhausting travelers. Consideration for simplicity and ease of navigation is essentially the prime goal in planning and designing a practical WIS especially in complex environments. The effective use of persuasive technology in social media can influence behaviour change. By 2020, 88.7% of Malaysians were active internet users, and various social media platforms to change users' behaviour had emerged via the internet. This paper examines how persuasive technology has been used in Malaysian health care and behaviour change over the past ten years. The goal is to discover how well technology has been used to change people's behaviour. The findings of this paper anticipate an in-depth study about underexplored topics, such as the most effective strategy to embed PT in Social Media applications to improve health.
