Previous studies reveal a gap in the literature regarding the role of knowledge-sharing behavior and person--organization fit as mediating variables in assessing the impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior. Additionally, some studies show that transformational leadership and person-organization fit influence innovative work behavior, while other studies have found that they do not. This study investigates the effects of transformational leadership, person-organization fit, and knowledge-sharing behavior on teachers' innovative work behavior and explores the role of knowledge-sharing behavior and person-organization fit as mediator variables. The study utilizes the partial least squares (PLS)-structural equation modeling (SEM) method to analyze data from 260 private elementary school teachers in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The result showed that transformational leadership does not positively affect innovative work behavior directly; however, the effect of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior becomes positive through knowledge-sharing behavior. Person-organization fit and knowledge-sharing behavior are shown to affect innovative work behavior positively, although the mediating variable did not increase the effect of person-organization fit on innovative work behavior.
Purpose The role of happiness at work (HW) on mental health (MH) in the education sector in Indonesia has not been widely examined. Additionally, the inconsistent results of previous studies on the relationship between job satisfaction (JS) and MH have led to the uncertainty of JS being a mediator. This study aims to fill the gap in knowledge by examining the effect of HW and perceived organizational support (POS) on teachers’ MH, with JS as a mediator. Methods This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design, using partial least squares structural equation modeling with SmartPLS software. The research participants included 490 teachers in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta province. Results The results indicate that HW is the highest predictor of teachers’ MH, and POS is the highest predictor of JS. Another notable finding is that JS was found to have a positive but not significant effect on teachers’ MH. However, it did impact the failure of the mediation relationship of this research model, which did not align with previous studies’ findings. Conclusion Schools must pay attention to HW to improve teachers’ MH. Additionally, they should provide support to teachers to increase their JS, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employee engagement is a sizzling issue that has been discussed in recent years. Employee engagement makes employees feel involved and enthusiastic in doing their work so that they would give their best for the success of the organization. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of job satisfaction, well-being, and emotional intelligence to the teachers' employee engagements at SDS Pelangi Kasih Jakarta. This is important because a teacher plays a key role in achieving the goals of education. The data were gained through a survey by distributing the questionnaires to 65 teachers who are working at SDS Pelangi Kasih. The study used a quantitative approach with the PLS-SEM method to evaluate the measurement model (an outer model) and the structural model (an inner model). The data were processed using the SmartPLS 3.0. program. The results have indicated that job satisfaction, well-being, and emotional intelligence had positive effects on the teachers' employee engagements at SDS Pelangi Kasih Jakarta.
This study aims to measure the effect of transformational and transactional leadership on employee performance in the HVAC industry in Tangerang mediated by readiness for change. The data was collected by using simple random sampling technique and the results of the questionnaire that returned and were valid as many as 224 samples. Data processing using SEM method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study concluded that transformational leadership has a significant effect on employee performance and readiness to change. In contrast to transactional leadership which does not have a significant effect on both performance and readiness to change. This study also concludes that readiness to change has a positive and significant effect on the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. This new research proposes a model for building employee performance among employees of the HVAC industry in Tangerang through enhancing transformational leadership practices with readiness to change as a mediator. This research can pave the way to improve employee readiness in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0 era.
