The paper examines the history of the development of amateur football in the post-war period and be-fore the collapse of the USSR. The urgency of the problem and a brief historiographic review of the subject are given. The goal and the areas of the study are set (football in closed cities, the develop-ment of “factory football” and the Saplinov futsal tournament). The novelty of the study is in consider-ing the sports game (football) through the historical prism of the events during the researched period. The fact that earlier this issue was exclusively stud-ied by journalists and teachers of the faculties of physical education, but not by historians. Aspects were more focused on the system of preparation and training sportsmen. This study also provides a lot of statistics on various football matches, which took place in Krasnoyarsk or in small towns of the region. At the end of the study the author presents the conclusions on the research.
