This study attempted to investigate social justice issues in the education and management of students’ development. This study seeks to find the relationship between equal opportunity to learning, provision of basic needs, teacher preparation of lesson and students’ development in Kwara State, Nigeria. To achieve this aim, the researcher conducted a descriptive research with a quantitative approach to test the hypotheses. A proportional sampling procedure was used to select participants from sample public senior secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. A questionnaire was used to gather data which were analysed with the use of quantitative statistics tools. The outcomes show that there is no significant difference between equal opportunity to learning, provision of basic needs, teacher preparation and management of students’ development in Nigeria. The researcher recommended that educational managers should provide equal access to schooling for all learners irrespective of their age so as to encourage students to empathise with others and develop the skill of critical thinking. Staff innovative behaviour is critical for organisations if they wish to survive and continue expanding effectively. This study investigated the effect of visionary leadership on staff innovative behaviour in Kwara State, Nigeria. The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between visionary leadership and staff innovative behaviour in Kwara State-owned colleges of education. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A sample of 220 respondents were randomly selected from the sample colleges of education with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table to determine sample size of known population. Pearson correlations and linear regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The results show that leadership empowerment, intellectual stimulation, and adaptiveness were positively and significantly correlated with staff innovative behaviour. The result also shows that staff innovative behaviour can be influenced by visionary academic leaders. It was therefore recommended that academic leaders should continue to boost up the style of leadership empowerment, intellectual stimulation as well as adaptiveness towards the realization of staff innovative behaviour
Abstract National consciousness within educational institutions could enhance effective management of education for sustainable development. This study examines the existing relationship between cultural integration, sports activities, gender equality and management of secondary education for sustainable development in Nigeria. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 175 principals from a population of 310 principals and 364 teachers from a population of 6,894 teachers in public senior secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table to determine sample size of a known population making a total of 539 participants. Data were collected using the National Consciousness and Management of Education for Sustainable Development Questionnaire (NCMESDQ), and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation. The results revealed that there were positive and significant relationships between cultural integration, sports activities, gender equality and management of secondary education for sustainable development in Nigeria. The findings imply that education managers should improve cultural integration by finding more common grounds in the cultural practices of the people in respect to dressing, festivals and the likes, furthermore, education managers should pay more emphasis on sport activities as a means of bringing students of various schools together as well as improve on gender equality in order to maintain effective management of secondary education for sustainable development in Nigeria. An effective management within educational institutions could enhance the quality of education provided by the institution. This quantitative study determined the perceptions of secondary school principals on the importance of teacher competency, conducive learning environment, curriculum relevance, staff development, supervision and motivation towards the attainment of quality education. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 175 public secondary school principals from a population of 310 principals in Kwara State, Nigeria, who participated in the study. Data was collected using the Teacher Management and Quality Education Questionnaire (TMQEQ), and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that the principals agreed that teacher competency, conducive learning environment, curriculum relevance, staff development, supervision and motivation are important towards the attainment of quality education. The findings implicate that school administrators should continuously encourage and support teachers to acquire more training and additional qualification. In addition, government and school principals should constantly supervise teachers' classroom activities in order to stimulate professional growth of teachers as well as put in place appropriate strategies to motivate teachers towards achieving quality education in the public senior secondary schools in Nigeria.
This study investigated social transformation issues and management educational goals achievement in Nigeria. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between implementation of education policy, parental involvement in education, appropriate education budgetary allocation and achievement of educational goals in Nigeria. To achieve this, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A self-designed questionnaire titled ‘Social Transformation and Management of Educational Goals Achievement Questionnaire’ (STMEGAQ) was used to collect information for the study. The population of this study comprised all 6472 teachers in public junior secondary schools in Kwara State. The sample of 364 teachers was selected with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table of determine sample size of a known population. The data collected were analysed using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient statistic. The result revealed that there was positive and significant relationship between effective implementation of education policy, parental involvement in education, appropriate education budgetary allocation and achievement of educational goals in Nigeria. It was recommended that government should ensure effective implementation of education policy.
