Indonesia berada di wilayah tropis yang memiliki salah satu hutan terluas dengan biodiversitasnya yang sangat melimpah di dunia yang terhampar di daratan katulistiwa dari sabang sampai merauke. Hutan menyimpan kekayaan jenis tumbuhan dan telah di temukan lebih dari 30.000 jenis tumbuhan dan 400 spesies diantaraanya memiliki nilai ekonomi yang sangat tinggi. Sebanyak 26% telah di manfaatkan dan 74% diantaranya masih belum dimanfaatkan secara ekonomi. Sebanyak 8000 spesies diketahui memiliki potensi obat dan 800-1200 spesies digunakan oleh masyarakat luas sebagai obat tradisional dan kosmetik. Buku ini menyajikan data mengenai tumbuhan potensi obat dan pemanfaatannya di Desa Pelawan, Kecamatan Pelawan, Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi.
<p>This study aims to (1) determine the types of medicinal plants used in Teluk Kayu Putih village, (2) describe the development of the herbarium book media for medicinal plants lecture, <br /> (3) determine the validity and (4) the readability test of the herbarium book of medicinal plants as a learning media. The ADDIE development model research consists of 2 stages of research. The first stage of qualitative research is to obtain data on the types of medicinal plants in Teluk Kayu Putih Village. The second stage of media development is making a herbarium book. Field data collection methods include observation and documentation (first stage) and questionnaire (second stage). The results obtained are: (1) The types of plants used as medicine in Teluk Kayu Putih Village are 27 species grouped into 25 families; the most plant species came from Family Euphorbiaceae, Myrtaceae, and Zingiberaceae, each with 2 species, (2) The media developed are specimens of medicinal plants originating from Teluk Kayu Putih village, including plant parts that have been dried using a pressing technique, arranged in a scrapbook with a black base color derived from black cardboard, the spesimens are pasted one by one and then identified, as well as put together and bound in a spiral to form a book, (3) The validity test from material experts and media experts on the media produced obtained a score of 81,35% and 85,26%, while the validity test score obtained a score of 86,31% (very feasible), (4) The readability test of the herbarium book by 23 respondents obtained an average percentage score of 92,6%, means that the media is suitable to use.</p>
The number of aquatic plants along the river flow outside the village of Lambur becomes a barrier to water traffic so that these plants are classified to be weeds or a nuisance for local people. This study aims to determine and document the types of weeds found in the village of Lambur and explore locals’ knowledge about the types of existing water weeds and their use. This research was conducted in the Village of Lambur Luar Tanjung Jabung Timur District by using the roaming method to collect existing Weed samples. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies, the data are analysed descriptive qualitative design. The results showed that there were 19 species and 13 families of water weeds, namely: Fimbristylis sp1, fimbristylis sp2, Cyperus sphacelatus Rottb, Blyxa aubertii Rich, Lindernia sp, Glinus oppositifolius (L.) Aug.DC, Melastoma malabathticum L, Nymphaea nouchali Burn, Ludwigia hyssopifolia (G.Don) Exell, Ludwigia repens JR Forst, Scoparia dulcis, Hippochaete debilis (Roxb.ex Vaucher) Ching, Panicum repens L, Oryza sativa, Persicaria hydropiper L, Monochoria vaginalis (Burm.f.) C.Presl, Borreria alata (Aubl.) DC, Borreria repens DC, and Xyris sp. Of the 19 species found, only 12 species, the locals know the name of the water weed, 7 species are only referred to as grass only by the locals, this water weed is not used by the them but mostly weeds are used for animal feed, the researchers provide education to the community that actually weed water can be used for treatment and to find out the quality of a waters or be used as an indicator of the biological condition of a river in wheteher good condition or not.
