Changes in ambient pressure, for example, during flying, diving, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy, can lead to barotrauma. Although it may seem that this issue was neglected in dental education and research in recent decades, familiarity with and understanding of these facts may be of importance for dental practitioners. We report the case of a patient who experienced barotrauma involving dislodgement of a provisional crown during scuba diving. Patients who are exposed to pressure changes as a part of their jobs or hobbies and their dentists should know the causes of barotrauma. In addition, the clinician must be aware of the possible influence of pressure changes on the retention of dental components.

BSTRACT
Objectives:
The aim of this study was to investigate quality, reliability, and comprehensiveness of YouTube videos about oral self-examination to detect oral cancer and precancerous lesions and to assess whether the source, duration, quality, reliability, and/or comprehensiveness of videos influence their visibility and popularity.
Materials and Methods:
Videos on YouTube were searched using eight keywords similar to oral self-examination. The first 100 videos for each search term were included. Strict inclusion and exclusion criteria were adhered to, and videos were assessed for quality, reliability, and comprehensiveness. Upload date, views, likes, dislikes, duration, and source of the videos were noted. Viewing rate and interaction index were calculated for each video.
Results:
A total of 800 videos were analyzed, 24 of which met the inclusion criteria. Majority of videos (87%) were uploaded by the healthcare group. The visibility, quality, reliability, and comprehensiveness were higher in videos uploaded by the healthcare group when compared with the non-healthcare group, but not at a level of statistical significance. The mean interaction index score of the non-healthcare group was found to be higher than the healthcare group, with statistically significant difference. Duration of videos showed an impact on the comprehensiveness of the videos.
Conclusion:
There are relatively few videos on oral self-examination on YouTube, and most do not have satisfactory quality, reliability, and comprehensiveness. There is a potential to increase public awareness about oral self-examination by utilizing this tool. Videos with complete and accurate information regarding oral self-examination must be uploaded to YouTube, which is currently an important source of information for the general public.
Introduction: With the increased popularity of implants, orthodontists are in search of a better material. Titanium-gold (Ti-Au) is a newer material and could be a choice to replace the currently popular titanium-aluminum-vanadium (Ti-6Al-4Va) alloy. Materials and Methods: Using the finite element analysis method, three-dimensional computer-aided models of a mini-implant was designed. Two cylindrical bone pieces into which the implant was inserted were used. A force magnitude of 5 N was then horizontally and separately applied to the implant head. Results: Comparison of the maximum von Mises stress in the implants of Ti-6Al-4Va and Ti-Au was done. The maximum stress value of 252.356 and 242.415 Mpa, as well as maximum deformation of 0.025 mm and 0.019 mm, on Ti-6Al-4Va and Ti-Au can be observed, respectively. Conclusion: It was found that the maximum stress and maximum deformation values were lower in Ti-Au as compared to Ti-6Al-4Va implant. As the Ti-Au implant has greater resistance to deformation, it can be concluded that this newer alloy has better strength than Ti-6Al-4Va implant.
One tenet of successful orthodontic therapy is to complete treatment without repeated bond failure and decalcification. Fluoride application reduces demineralisation of enamel. Use of glass ionomers for orthodontic bonding has long been a topic of debate. The purpose of this study was to compare the bond strengths of Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement and Composite resins after Fluoride application.40 human premolars were immersed in 1.23% APF gel for 4 min.s . 1 st group was bonded using Light cure Composite resin (Amber -Jaipur Orthodontics) and 2 nd group using Resin modified glass ionomer cement (GC Fuji Ortho TM ). The Universal Testing Machine has been the age old standard for bond strength measurement. However its unavailability and cost incurred in getting samples tested is a major hindrance in research activities on this front, particularly for the Post Graduate students where majority of thesis are based on Bond strength measurements. Keeping this in mind, a Bond strength measuring machine was indigenously developed and Bond strength was tested on it. Students 't' test showed significantly higher bond strength of composite as compared to resin modified glass ionomer. After fluoride application resin modified glass ionomer cement showed reduced bond strength then composite resin. The device described here can be a cheaper alternative for institutional setups.
