The use of computers has become one of the driving forces in the delivery of instruction of today's vocational education and training (VET) in Nigeria. Though computers have become increasingly accessible resources for educators to use in their teaching activities, most teachers are still unable to integrate it in their teaching and learning processes. Computers are used to improve teaching quality where quality is very expensive to reproduce, or to substitute for the lack of teachers, or schooling opportunities that cannot be made available with conventional teaching methodologies. This paper examines the challenges of integrating ICT into instructional practices in VET and the barriers confronting implementation. Hence, the need for compatible computer education policies, suggestions to integrate ICT into teaching and learning practices are provided to assist the teachers to the use of computers in order to help the students acquire theoretical knowledge, grounded in real practice. It is the contention of this paper that though creating an ICT environment for teaching and learning in Nigeria may seem difficult, it would enhance students' achievement in vocational education and training.
The problems that plagues the school system are so numerous that those who are within the educational system are so overwhelmed not to talk of outsiders who are poised to ask such a pertinent question like "are the principals leading the schools well?". This paper examined the quality valuation among the male and female principals in their choice of leadership styles. The principals, the teachers and the student were all required to make their contributions to ascertain what style of leadership that is commonly adopted by the male on the one hand and the female principals on the other. The analysed data shows that the female principals qualitatively involve the democratic style of leadership than the men. The female principals also involve their staff in decision-making than does the male counterpart, the male principals, who adopted the democratic and the autocratic styles of leadership are quicker at the management of crises in schools than the female principals.

The use of instructional materials in teacher training programs can provide significant input to the overall development of future teachers. Research shows that instructional materials in teacher training help student teachers to establish links between theory and practice by allowing them to make new connections between curriculum topics and the world. The new environment in which colleges develop in Nigeria has made the quality of teaching one of the main concerns and objectives. This paper discusses how to assist teachers in using instructional materials in order to help them to acquire theoretical knowledge, grounded in real practice. The paper attempts to explain the features of instructional materials and how they can assist teachers in planning quality teaching materials.
