Higher education institutions in Colombia are interested in monitoring their graduates' employment dynamics as a self-assessment tool in order to know their job and professional performance and the pertinence of academic programs. The aim of this study is to identify the perspectives of graduates and employers. For this, a structured survey was applied using the Labor Observatory for Education guidelines. Collection and update of the required data from graduates and employers is framed with the quantitative descriptive analysis; every component assessed with the instrument helped to build a set of recommendations based on the conclusions drawn in the study and a clearer perception on the performance, abilities, and fields of action of professional accountants. It is concluded that accounting is one of the most dynamic due to all the regulation reforms in Colombia and a greater need of efficient and ethic professionals that foster tax consciousness constantly.
