This model and others like it are increasingly forming the conceptual framework for studies that evaluate quality and system interventions to improve care. However, the available data continue to require the linking of negative outcomes (adverse events, complications) to structural and process inputs that reflect nursing care. An urgent need remains to incorporate this broader range of outcomes into available databases.
This paper focuses on the marketing of tourism and hospitality operations online. It examines the current Internet marketing efforts or tourism operators from Banff in the Canadian Rockies, and draws from website statistics and data for over 100 tourism operations. Doing so, it highlights the latest trends in the use of the Internet as a marketing tool for operators, tourism website development and the use of the Internet for travel planning.
The CNOs and other health policy advisors can use the findings in planning for adequate nurse staffing. Development of electronic newsletters with summaries of pertinent research for CNOs and other policy advisors is needed. Future studies on nurse staffing are warranted. They should focus on other settings and how best to share research findings with policymakers.
