The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of information managers and libraries in accomplishing Nigeria's sustainable development goals in the 21st Century. The paper explored the notion of sustainable development, examines the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including their respective targets. It identifies and discusses the role of libraries and information managers (librarians) in achieving SDGs, as well as the philosophy of information theory of communication as proposed by Claude Shannon (1948). Libraries all over the world offer a variety of products and services that support the accomplishment of all 17 SDGs. Libraries are secure, friendly spaces at the heart of communities, fostering reading and providing free access to information. Libraries are vital instruments in society, and they play a critical role in accomplishing long-term development goals. Citizens must be well informed if Nigeria's sustainable development goals are to be met and sustained. This can be accomplished by selecting, processing, organizing, and disseminating information based on the parameter of development as indicated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and organizing training programs or forums where issues such education, environmental, climate change, gender inequality and health issues can be discussed, and so on.

The COVID-19 pandemic has overwhelmed healthcare providers all over the world. Nigeria has also had its fair share of the health crisis caused by COVID-19. Despite the apparent shortcomings of public healthcare in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, the participation of private healthcare providers in caring for COVID-19 patients in Nigeria has been limited by legal and regulatory constraints. This study employs a hybrid research method. The study found insufficient medical facilities and care for COVID-19 patients in government-owned isolation centers. It was concluded and recommended that there is a need to whittle down the laws and regulations limiting private health providers from caring for COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, there is a need to set some ethics and guidelines for private healthcare providers who intend to care for COVID-19 patients.

The defective environmental changes caused by climate change have a drastic harmful effect on natural habitats and species. This is concerning the fact that there are signs that the increase in the intensity of temperature often has (caused by human activities) an effect on biodiversity. However, the threat posed by climate change to biodiversity is expected to increase, given the harmful human activities. The scientist has identified that if the present rates of global warming continue by 2030, it will result in a significant detrimental impact on biodiversity. In this regard, this study adopts a doctrinal method of study in examining the current causes of climate change, the effect of climate change on biodiversity, and several global legal frameworks concerning the preservation and conservation of biodiversity. The study also detailed the lacuna inherent in the conservation and preservation of biodiversity, and possible legal and scientific method for revamping biodiversity. The study further concluded and recommended that adopting this possible solution it will curtail harmful human activities that often cause climate change that negatively affect biodiversity.
Digital technologies like smartphones, social media, the internet, software applications, websites, and e-books are redefining the educational landscape, which was accentuated amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter discussed the impact of digital technologies in enabling academic institutions to perform their noble responsibilities in delivering instructions virtually during the lockdown. The effects of using these technologies and the challenges encountered by developing countries in migrating to the digital environment amid the lockdown with particular reference to the educational ecosystem in Nigeria was the focal point in the chapter. Striking among these challenges is the issue of compatibility, the high cost of internet data, inadequate digital literacy skill, and environmental distraction. Thus, it was recommended that administrators of academic institutions and regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC) must provide lecturers and students at all levels with adequate training to ensure operational productivity in the use of digital technologies and resources.
