Ergonomics has plays an important role to improve occupational health and work productivity in most industries in Malaysia including agriculture. However, most of the workers in Malaysia especially in oil palm plantation do not highlight ergonomics awareness as priority for their safety and health. They still using manual tools and consequently exposed to ergonomics risk factors. The objective of this study is to evaluate working postures during harvesting oil palm fresh fruit bunches. The Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) is used to evaluate risks working postures and movements corresponding to the tasks. From the analysis, it is revealed that most of the oil palm workers were affected by musculoskeletal disorders especially on left and right hand side. Immediate action such as conduct ergonomics training for the workers must be taken to solve this ergonomic problem.
Many pen-and-paper-based observational methods have been developed. However, there are still many limitations of these methods. There is, therefore, a need to develop a new pen-and-paper-based observational method for assessing postural problems.
Oil palm plantation workers, still rely on manual tools and using mechanization technovation tools has been big issues as they rejected to use. Thus, in emphasizing technovation tools in a human activity, this study aims to examine several factors influencing acceptance and use technovation machine tools in Malaysia based on the revised Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. A total of 126 oil palm plantation workers answer the questionnaire. This model was analyzed using SPSS technique and conducting reliability test, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results reveal that performance expectancy, facilitating condition and intention to use were supported as important factors to accept and use of technovation. However, effort expectancy and social influence have been rejected because not significantly influence intention to use technovation. The results of study give implications and suggestions to future researchers and practitioners in order to address problems regarding technovation acceptance.
Online food deliveries are third-party tools that facilitate for online purchase and delivery, present an alternate way of ordering that looks to be gaining traction. This study will examine consumer acceptance behaviour towards food delivery application (FDA) during pandemic COVID-19 and the factor that lead them to accept or reject of using FDA. This study also will identify food delivery service applications that usually consumer use. This study will focus on Northern Malaysia, Kulim area which is covering the rural and urban areas. In order to achieve this study, the researcher has used a qualitative method which is data collected through semi-structured interviews. The result shows that there are four factors that contribute to the acceptance and rejection of online food delivery applications which is time, quality, safety, and price. Furthermore, there are four respondents that accept and one respondent rejects using FDA. The most favorite application that consumers use is Food Panda. The FDA helps many consumers during this pandemic season. Therefore, a variety of applications and service improvements are needed to provide customer satisfaction.
