Porous N-doped TiO2 photocatalyst was successfully synthesized by an environmentally friendly peroxo sol-gel method using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a templating agent. Here, the effect of PEG addition to the aqueous peroxotitanium solutions on the structure, pore properties and photocatalytic activity of the obtained photocatalysts was systematically studied. The prepared photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). It was found that the doping of nitrogen narrows the band gap of TiO2 leading to enhance its visible-light response. The BET analysis shows that the prepared photocatalysts have a typical mesoporous structure with pore sizes of 3–6 nm. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared photocatalysts was evaluated by photocatalytic reduction of Cd(II) in an aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The results show that porous N-doped TiO2 with the optimal PEG addition had the highest Cd(II) reduction of 85.1% after 2.5 h irradiation in neutral aqueous solution. This significant improvement in photocatalytic activity of the prepared photocatalysts was mainly attributed to the synergistic combination of N doping and porous structure, which could actively increase the catalytic active site of this photocatalysts. Recently, there has been increasing interest in developing artificial superhydrophobic surfaces, especially in the field of selfcleaning application. However, the poor robustness and high-cost preparation of these surfaces have always been some issues for their industrial development. Herein, we describe an environmentally friendly way to prepare stable, robust, and transparent superhydrophobic coatings through the deposition of a rough substructure of TiO 2 film followed by chemical modification using octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS), a fluorine-free organic silane. The as-prepared coatings exhibited a great superhydrophobic property and ultralow adhesion (with a static water contact angle of 158 ± 2°and sliding angle of 4 ± 1°). It was found that the superhydrophobic coatings can still maintain good performance after UV irradiation, chemical immersion, and physical abrasion. More importantly, the coated surfaces showed an excellent self-cleaning ability against dirt particles after rinsed with water droplets.
A facile strategy was developed to fabricate transparent ultrahydrophobic glass. First, TiO 2 films were deposited uniformly on untreated glass substrate after heating aqueous peroxotitanate thin films at 120°C for 1 h followed by octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODTS) modification. The as-fabricated surfaces were then possessed ultrahydrophobic properties because of the combination of the rough surface topography of TiO 2 and low surface energy due to ODTS monolayer. It was found that the water contact angle and sliding angle of the as-prepared coatings were about 146°and 7°, respectively. Besides, these coatings showed excellent self-cleaning performance compared to untreated glass in order to remove dirt particles with water droplets. It is believed that the current method could lead as low-cost and effective way to fabricate a very promising material for commercial and industrial coatings applications.
Artikel ini berjudul relevansi waktu senggang terhadap konsumsi berlebih di era postmodern. Waktu senggang pada masyarakat postmodern lebih condong untuk melakukan aktivitas berupa mencari hiburan bahkan seringkali menghabiskan waktu begitu. Postmodern dengan kemudahannya telah menciptakan banyaknya waktu senggang akibat mudahnya pekerjaan dengan teknologi. Hal yang mendorong penulis melakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk meluruskan pemahaman mengenai waktu senggang yang sebenarnya dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif atau library research, objek pembahasan dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari penelitian, jurnal, dan buku yang terkait dengan topik ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pada era postmodern waktu senggang tidak lagi digunakan untuk melakukan hal produktif tetapi menjelma menjadi suatu waktu melepas penat dari berbagai kesibukan menciptakan the leisure class yakni kalangan yang menghabiskan waktu senggangnya untuk mengkonsumsi secara berlebihan demi mengikuti gaya hidup hedonis. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat post modern telah salah dalam penafsiran waktu senggang. Yang seharusnya ialah waktu untuk mengembangkan potensi diri dan menciptakan karya dan tidak melihat konsumsi dalam sudut pandang kepuasan melainkan kegunaan dari sebuah objek konsumsi.
