The purpose of the given work is to examine the potentialities of power effective induction motors design for energy savingThe possibility of induction motor improvement without changing cross section for adjustable electric drives to provide energy saving has been shown. For developing energy saving induction motor it's worth taking into account in optimum criterion not only losses decrease but also expenses decrease of reactive energy compensation and reliability increase which i s always observed when active materials mass increases.
LENERGY SAVING POTENTIALEffectiveness of Russian ' economy is markedly decreased due to its high power consumption. Russia leaves behind the USA 2.4 times, Westem Europe 3,9 times, Japan 4.5 times according to this index [ 13. Only to some extent the above mentioned differences can be justified by rigorous climatic conditions of Russia and its vast territories. For the most part high power consulnption in economy is the result o f using energy wasteful technologies and equipment, marked losses of energy resources (at their output, processing, conversion, transport and consumption), irrational economy structure (?ugh share of production power consumption). As a result large energy saving potential is accumulated estimating 360430 mln tons reference he1 or 3846% current energy consumption [ll. Reahation of this potential due to economy growth 2.3-3.3 times for 20 years allows to obtain energy consumption growth 2.25-1.4 times in order to markedly increase citizens' life quality and competitiveness of home-made goods and services at home and foreign markets. Thus, energy saving is an important factor of economic growth and effectiveness growth of national economy.When solving the problem of energy saving it is important to determine basic strategy approaches and methods of rational application of power resources which may be both common for energy as a whole and specific for separate branches of industry, agriculture and social sphere. Among common approaches in energy saving strategy one can mention resource saving technologies application in the sphere of power technological objects, application of mathematical simulation methods and optimization in design and improvement of energy saving technologies. In spite of the available literature on energy saving problems, periodicals including, presentation of these problems seems to the insufficient. It's worth noting large amount of work is being carried out to create a standard legal basis, tariff policy, registration and control of power resources promotion and support of energy saving projects etc but less attention is paid to elaborating practicable energy saving technologies. This fact makes difficult taking well-grounded conclusions in the field of energy saving.
