On 21 Novem ber 2005, the spe cial issue of the Review devoted to social secu rity in Latin Amer ica (Vol. 58, No. 2-3, 2005) was pre sented in Buenos Aires.The pre sen ta tion took place in the Islas Malvinas hall at the Min is try of Labour, Employment and Social Secu rity and was chaired by the Min is ter, Carlos Tomada, who is also Chair of the ILO Gov ern ing Body. Alejandro Bonilla García, Chief of the ISSA's Stud ies and Oper ations Branch, trav elled to Argen tina spe cially for the event. Alfredo Conte Grand, Argen tina's Sec re tary for Social Secu rity, and the guest edi tors of the issue, spe cial ists Fabio Bertranou (ILO) and Octavio Jiménez Durán (ISSA), also took part.Speak ers empha sized the major role played by the ISSA in the devel op ment and sup port of social secu rity programmes in the region, as well as the impor tance, the rel e vance and the util ity of the tech ni cal and the o ret i cal infor ma tion pro vided reg u larly by the Inter na tional Social Secu rity Review.
