The chapter reveals how two publicity slogans and three questions related to how one attains professional knowledge have encouraged the author to develop his career, from a once-nervous lecturer to a competent and knowledgeable professor/docent within a number of subjects in social education. In addition, the author elaborates extensively on the development of a theatre that promotes the abilities of intellectually and evelopmentally disabled actors in their performance. A survey of his publications, which constituted his application for promotion to a docent position, is also presented in a table that shows how each item relates to the criteria for promotion.
