The purpose of this work is to examine early childhood math and some strategies on how early childhood math can be enhanced. Math is an important subject in the school curriculum that cannot be overlooked. The young child's math abilities or skills need to be developed for future life. Some methods on how to improve young children's abilities were reviewed. It was a qualitative study. From the review, it was revealed that developing young child math abilities is vital for them to progress in future math. Also, the reviews indicated that math assists young children in building up their math ability to solve problems and think critically. The findings demonstrate the importance of early childhood mathematics programs as a foundation for subsequent math teaching. Young children require a mathematical foundation from an early age in order to develop the concepts and abilities needed to succeed in school, multiple professions, and even daily life.
The study looked at the ICT utilization in teaching-learning of mathematics: a call for proper integration and enhancing teachers–students’ performance in the developing countries. The importance of mathematics cannot be played down. Everyone uses it in their everyday activities. Mathematics has been seen as the basis for the economic, scientific and technological development of every nation. To sustain this importance, it becomes imperative to encourage students to study the subject and one way to do that is to effectively integrate the ICT into teaching the subject. The ICT is very essential in the study of mathematics because of its benefits. In integrating these ICT tools, there are problems encountered by the mathematics teachers which is require to be solved. The study reviewed the literature on the nature of mathematics, the vision of ICT, the nature of ICT, incorporation of ICT into teaching mathematics, problems of utilizing ICT in mathematics teaching-learning, the willingness of ICT use in Mathematics Education, ICT and its influence on mathematics teaching-learning, the benefits of applying ICT to Learning and Teaching Mathematics, Some ICT tools utilized for mathematics teaching, some recommendations were made by the researcher and forty-nine authors were reviewed to support the study.
The study's goal is to assess students who are enrolled in postsecondary mathematics in terms of their achievement and mathematical reasoning skills. Most experts think that for students to study mathematics, they must possess the ability to reason since solving problems in mathematics demands it. The achievement has a bearing on this since it is important for the school and the instructors to be aware of the academic performance of the pupils in various subject areas to track their progress. A student's accomplishments aid the instructor in determining their rank. The idea that mathematics is the most difficult subject has made learning the subject quite challenging. The ability of mathematics to reason is one significant component of mathematics that many overlook. Mathematical reasoning is crucial for success in the sciences, humanities, and other fields that rely on it. The current study examined math achievement and thinking skills. 228 students served as the study sample for this investigation. The design is expo facto. To direct the study, two research questions were established. According to the study, students' achievement is influenced by mathematical thinking. Additionally, female students outperform male students in math and courses closely related to mathematics.
Decision-making in choosing a career is a very vital aspect of life, and it determines what the person will be in future. If taken wrongly, it has a great effect on someone’s life which is why one needs to be careful in making a decision that pertains to a career. There is a need for parents to assist or guide their children when they are still young to enable them to make good decisions on career choices. Parents’ roles in deciding on a career are of great importance to the students, so this aspect should not be overlooked by parents. The study looked at the roles and influence of parents on students’ decisions on a career. One hundred and forty final-year diploma students were taken from Delta state university, Abraka, as the sample. One research question and one hypothesis were stated for the study. The study revealed that parents’ roles influence their children's career choices.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
