The purpose of this study is to see how the conception of high school teachers and to see how the professionalism of teachers relates to the conceptions held in one of the high schools in the city of Palu, Central Sulawesi. The method used is to conduct a survey of 3 teachers. The instrument used in this study was 23 tier test diagnostic as many as 23 about static fluid. The results of the analysis show that the three teachers who were given the test did not experience misconceptions on the main topics of hydrostatic law, Pascal’s law and Archimedes law but experienced doubts in answering questions on the main hydrostatic legal material with the scientific knowledge category of 95.3% and the category of 4.7%. Based on data analysis, conclusions can also be drawn both teachers who have been certified and have not experienced misconceptions, the difference is seen where teachers who have not been certified hesitate to answer some of the questions given.

This study was aimed by the number of students who were experiencing misconception on the Fluid Topic. Therefore, it requires a learning method that is able to facilitate students to learn which is Marked by a student misconception into a scientific misconception. the purpose of this study is to develop an existing learning models to reduce the quantity of students’ misconception. this research includes mixed methods research with embedded experimental model approach that combine qualitative and quantitative research procedures in one study to solve the problem. the priority of the model is quantitative, with qualitative data attached to methodology. A number of research subjects in the readability test of student worksheets (LKPD) were 5 (five) students in one high school in West Bandung Regency. the research subjects for the trail treatments and devices were 25 students in one high school in Central Sulawesi. the implementation of research subjects consisted of 25 students in one of high schools in Central Sulawesi province. the instruments used for this study were Four-Tier Diagnostic Test and Questionnaire to determine students’ response about the program being developed. The developed learning model has syntactic: engage, explore (predict-observe-write), explain, elaborate and evaluate (5E-POW). It can be declared that based on the data analysis of the average value N-gain on conception acquired by 77.05% and the decrease on the average quantity by -47.45% the conclusion derived from the data obtained is that research has also successfully developed a 5e-pow model with virtual simulations to decrease the quantity of high school student misconception on the Fluid Topic.
Abstrak – Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMA Negeri 7 Palu setelah diterapkan model problem-based learning menggunakan praktikum alat sederhana. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XB SMA Negeri 7 Palu. Dimana sampel penelitian terdiri dari 20 orang siswa kelas XB. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata tes awal sebesar 7,8 dan skor rata-rata tes akhir sebesar 13,05. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Wicolxon (satu pihak) diperoleh Whitung = 0 Wtabel = 60 pada α = 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa setelah diterapkan model Problem Based Learning menggunakan praktikum alat sederhana. Hal ini disebabkan oleh model Problem Based Learning menggunakan praktikum alat sederhana mengharuskan siswa aktif dan membiasakan untuk berpikir kreatif, hal tersebut menyebabkan siswa menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara yang fleksibel dan mempunyai alasan mengapa memilih cara tersebut (elaborasi).
