Obstructive urolithiasis is a serious, potentially fatal condition, most commonly causing symptoms in castrated male animals, but also occurring in breeding males. Symptoms may be non‐specific and can progress quickly to bladder rupture and/or renal failure. Recognition of the condition needs to be rapid so that successful treatment (medical or surgical) may be instituted or the decision for humane euthanasia can be made.
