A Space-Time Integrated Least Squares (STILS) method is derived for solving the linear conservation law with a velocity field in L ∞ . An existence and uniqueness result is given for the solution of this equation. A maximum principle is established and finally a comparison with a renormalized solution is presented.
SUMMARYA time-marching formulation is derived from the space-time integrated least squares (STILS) method for solving a pure hyperbolic convection equation and is numerically compared to various known methods.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
