This study examines the knowledge management strategies on profitability of selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study employed the survey research design. The population was 2,405 management staff of the selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. The sample size of 481 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan table. Multi-stage sampling was used to select the respondents. A validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The result revealed that knowledge management strategies had significant influence on the profitability (Adj.R2 = 0.520, F(2, 429) = 234.452, p < 0.05) in the selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study concludes that knowledge management strategies contributed to profitability of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study recommends that person-to-person transfer of knowledge should be improved on. Finally, the Central Bank of Nigeria should formulate a policy to establish knowledge management in the deposit money banks. The study focused on perception and use of e-banking services among business executives in Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos, Nigeria. The study aimed at finding out what influence the use of e-banking services by business executives. The study made use of cross-sectional survey design. The study area was stratified into communities and organizations sampled randomly as possible for the study. A questionnaire was used to collect data from one hundred and fifty one business executives' selected using accidental sampling method. Statistical methods used for the analyses were frequencies for descriptive statistics, while regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Findings revealed that ATM is the most used e-banking service while International Card Scheme is the least used. Gender and level of education are the two demographic variables that influenced business executives the most in their use of e-banking services. There are generally both positive and negative reviews about service quality and security/privacy of the e-banking services. The study revealed that business executives believe that the e-banking services were easy to use, useful and convenient. The study recommended that security/privacy and service quality of e-banking services/platforms should be improved and that effort should be directed to improving users' confidence in the use of the platform.
Performance is a picture of some achievements of every organization, that its operations is either about financial aspects, marketing aspects, raising some aspects of fund and disbursement of funds, technological aspects, as well as aspects of human resources. However, the issues of bank not engaging in knowledge management adversely affected performance. There seems to be paucity of studies on the influence of knowledge management strategies on organizational performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. This study examined the knowledge strategies and organizational performance of selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study covered 2,405 management staff of the selected deposit money banks in Lagos State, Nigeria. The sample size of 432 was determined through the Raosoft sample size calculator. Multi stage sampling method was utilized for selecting the respondents. Data were collected through adapted validated questionnaire. The reliability test for the instrument yielded Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for the constructs ranging from 0.77 to 0.89. The instrument achieved a response rate of 100%. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The result revealed that knowledge management strategies sub-variables had significant effect on organizational performance; knowledge collection (β= 2.746, r = 0.532, T= 12.768, p<0.05), Knowledge provision (β= 0.368, r = 0.092, T= 1.956, p>0.05), knowledge communication (β= 1.211, r= 0.270, T= 6.171, p<0.05), knowledge exchange (β= 0.709, r = 0.254, T= 7.092, p<0.05) and knowledge transfer (β= -0.944, r = -0.163, T= -3.214, p<0.05). The core objective of this study was to examine the influence of information management practices, knowledge management strategies and organizational performance of selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. Specifically, examined the influence of knowledge management strategies indices (knowledge provision, collection, transfer, communication and exchange) on each of the organizational performance (effective service delivery, profitability, employee satisfaction and teamwork) in Nigeria. The result of the analysis revealed that knowledge management strategies components have a statistically significant effect on organizational performance and it indices (effective service delivery, profitability, employee satisfaction and teamwork. The result further revealed that some of the indices of knowledge management strategies knowledge transfer have negative significant effect on organizational performance. From the result of the data analysis, it can be concluded that knowledge management strategies plays a major role in achieving continued performance in the organization especially in the deposit money banks under study.Service delivery, profitability, employee satisfaction, teamwork, performance and knowledge management, knowledge management strategies.
The paper vividly takes a look at the implementation of computerized banking monitoring system in Nigeria banking industry using Zenith bank Nigeria Plc as a case study. Moreover, Computerized banking monitoring information system in Nigerian banking industry is one of the ways the bankers try to reduce fraud and some other irregular activities in transferring cash online. However, the paper makes use of primary data of questionnaires analysis that were distributed to one hundred and fifty (150) staffs of Zenith bank Nigerian Plc. Three hypotheses were tested using spearman's rank correlation coefficient and the result shows thatthe lacks of security on the current automates system has a significant effect on internet banking services and the cost of implementing computerized banking monitoring information system has a significant effect on Zenith bank Performance in Nigeria banking industry. More so, the third results shows that the feasibility in installing computerized monitoring system has a significant effect on banking activities in Zenith bank. Therefore the paper concludes and recommends that when considering using computer monitoring software in the workplace like the banking industry, thorough and extensive research on the technology should be done and the bank should make sure that the monitoring information system in the industry is very efficient and effective in detecting fraud and other irregulaties related to online transaction.
