This paper explores the influence of information sources on parents’ awareness knowledge and practice of early childhood education in a rural community in Nigeria. In the brain of a new born child neurons rapidly begin connecting and while this continues forever most of it is complete by age two, this is the basic for early childhood education. This early education encompasses physical well-being, cognitive development, mental and social interaction and ability to read and write. This early childhood education builds stamina and lays foundation for adulthood achievement. 327 respondents constitute parents and guardians who have children between 2-6years old living in Gengere, Suleja, Nigeria. The choice of Suleja, a Northern State in Nigeria, is because more statistical figure of school aged children are on the rise than ever before. Findings suggests that although there is a significant level of awareness, knowledge of early childhood education, not all have fully enrolled their children in early childhood education centres. The study recommended that relevant bodies like the Ministry of Education and policy makers through the mixed approaches of information sources such as friends, radio, opinion leaders, and traditional leaders are used to improve parents’ awareness level of parents and guardians and see that barrier hindering parents from enrolling their children are attended to.
