The method of estimation of quality of metal-cutting tool is developed. They determined consumer requirements, factors of use conditions, technical performance. They showed, that the temperature of cutting is the factor which connects al important features. The model of quality of collapsible lathe tools is created on the basis of it.
They defined conditions of use, calculated a composite index of quality for different tools, chose a machine tool according to its quality evaluation, calculated efficiency of processing by tools with different parameters for a certain production operation.
Within the frameworks of the development of the methodology of a lathing tool quality evaluation and rating of consumers requirements to the lathing tool they have conducted an analysis of a lathing tool market. They developed and realized procedures “An analysis of risks in case of disestablishment of a lathing tool from a market” and “Formation of consumers requirements list to the lathing tool. As a result of this they established basic consumer requirements and evaluated a level of their necessity.
In terms of method for evaluating the quality of composite metal cutting tools, a need to regard reliability as a factor, consisting of several components, is grounded. It is discovered, that thermal compatibility of processed material and material of the tool, has a significant impact on composite cutters’ durability. So does the force of stress, created in the cutting edge. In order to take all these factors into account when evaluating the quality of metal cutting tools, the need to include stress and thermal compatibility coefficients has been proven. Means to determine the attributes needed and formulas for calculation of those coefficients had been developed. The methods we created can be used for the evaluation of both the existing tools and for the perspective tools currently being developed.
New ways of determination of maximum efficiency and machinability temperatures were developed in order to reduce manpower input of methodology of assembly lathing tools quality evaluation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
